My sword is, btw, mostly for balancing on my head. Possibly on a hat.

Last Friday, I went to get my hair cut (the salon requires masks, hand sanitizer and minimal contact; the stylist and shampoo lady wear gloves). Before going to the salon, I had the woman at the dry cleaner's ask me what hair dye I use ... and I had to tell her it's just how my hair grows. Then, at the salon, the ladies admired my nail polish. So ... compliments!
I'm getting a bonus from the job ... mostly because I've been coming in to the office, keeping it going, depositing all the checks and sending invoices (as scanned PDFs) to the appropriate people, taking care of phone calls, etc. So, not a raise, but income is well under budget so I'm glad of it.
Timelies all!
Still waiting for Mr. S's test results. In a complete coincidence, I had scheduled a COVID test at work for today.(Since Jan.3 testing is by appointment only)
Yay compliments and bonus, Toddson!
I’ve been regularly working a few hours over my regular work hours since mid to late Nov., but last week things went to another level. I wrote my boss an email yesterday saying basically: I know I’m not approved for overtime, but here’s what I’ve been doing (she knew what I was doing) and can I get overtime or comp time for the almost 2 full extra days I worked in the last week and a half.
She gave me comp time for those extra hours worked, but said to get any future extra time worked approved before doing it.
So today at 3pm I emailed her that I estimated it would take me 3 more hours of work tonight to catch up on x & y (two specific tasks to be clear on what I planned to work on). No response, so I logged off.
Well done, msbelle
Hold the boundary msbelle!! If you aren’t salaried they need to pay you!!
Yay bonus Toddson!
Ok, y’all who are good with hair color help me out? I had about 2” of roots from my pink hair (which had mostly but not entirely faded). Bleached them not as much as I probably should have (wasn’t sure how long was too long to leave it) and toned. It looked ok—not the same as the rest but close, and not super yellow. However when I put on the “periwinkle” dye, the old pink bits turned out great and the roots became….sort of gray? It’s not great. So I’m trying to figure out what to do—try something darker all over? Darker just around the roots and try sort of ombré? If I go with a dark blue will that cover the gray or will it just look worse? (And if just the roots, should I do purple or blue??)
Good for you, msbelle. "Work to rule" is one of my favorite techniques.
Yay bonus, Toddson!
meara, that's tricky. Jessica is better at blue hair than I am, but I'd say shoot for the ombre look. What's the dye brand?
I don't actually know what would work but the ombre idea sounds cool
I used arctic fox periwinkle. The last time I had blue hair I used a few different manic panic colors, and found that one faded teal while another faded pink, so I’d probably use the fades-to-pink one (“shocking blue”) if I don’t go with a purple?
