Yeah, we don't even have that. There is some sporadic chat happening but it's pretty sparse (or I am not invited to most of it, which is also possible)
Coincidentally, I just got a notice that we are switching our corporate phones to Zoom. Who knew Zoom had a phone system?
I generally miss casual chatter and interaction. And not-casual. Life is real boring and lonesome right now…
I plenty of chitchat and interaction on the work front, but am seriously people deprived on the personal front. I miss gatherings, dinners, parties, and hugs. DH gets a lot more people interaction with his coaching. I haven't been to any of his games. People, people in enclosed spaces! Some day.
Casual interactions with my neighbors and people at the store or whatever, also. At least I have here to natter in!
For some reason, I woke up this morning thinking I had no meetings scheduled today. I actually have two. Oops. At least I checked my calendar before I missed one. And neither one should require much input from me, I don't think.

That's why I cultivate conversational relationships with bartenders and comic book store clerks.

Most of my personal chitchat these days comes from fellow parents at dropoff/pickup. Except for this week, because I'm keeping Peanut home all week. David, thank you for the info about the kids at Matilda's school - that helped me feel better about my abundant caution.
(Of course, I have a metric ton of meetings/phone calls/work this week, so that's an "interesting" thing to balance, but at least I don't have the crushing anxiety bearing down on me.)
We do school drop off curbside from the car. I don’t know any of the other parents or kids except through the Facebook group. I hate it so much.

After the past couple of years, maybe they bought out AT&T?

Misread this as "controversial relationships" and was about to ask for follow-up. But nevermind.
Under the avalanche of peer reviews I still need to complete (only 17 to go!) I somehow managed to forget that I also have a self-evaluation to complete, which is 1000x harder and worse. As a manager I understand the value of performance reviews but as a person who doesn't want to write my self-evaluation I think I should just get a raise for having cute hair and not have to talk about it.
I've only done curbside or online shopping for such a long time I don't even get that contact anymore. We had a book club that met outside, but then the leader got Covid despite her vaccine status. With the weather so nice at this time of year I can probably give serious consideration to outside gatherings at the house again.
