Cereal:
Taco bar is fun! I have done it a few times for breakfast tacos, which is great—can be vegan/veg/gluten/dairy free as needed. Plus I use it as an excuse to make quick pickled onion which is tasty but I never remember to eat when it’s in my fridge otherwise.
Yeah, I have some of those in my fridge right now! I had sweet potato/black bean tacos for lunch yesterday. Would recommend!
Taco bars are indeed awesome. Last time I did one I had fish and beef as options as well as a veggie fake beef crumble to cover all my peoples. So yum! Hope the tummy settles down, meara.
I'm going to wah wah wah for a bit, no hair pats needed as that may only encourage me. So much stuff needs to be done for house showings. Big realtor invite only type open house tomorrow. DH & cleaning lady are spending whole day doing stuff like all the windows inside and out, floor details and such. I can do nothing. I spent yesterday in bed. I think I maybe pulled a stich Saturday doing too much. Ick details
(more discharge and pinchy ouchies in the region)
Pretty sure I am anemic because of lightheadedness and brain fog. Couldn't remember IP addresses I use every day! Going to add more iron rich stuff to my menu the next few days. DH does most food prep for me. I'll tell doc when I get my weekly checkup call tomorrow. I already know the instructions. Don't do shit and relax. I suck at this.
On the good side, at least I work on a computer and I can do that in my sleep pretty much. And I am blowing through the novels which is awesome, between naps.
Continued recovery to you, Laura.
I have a berry crisp in the oven, because the fruit I got the other day turned out sort of meh, and I don’t want it to spoil for lack of interest. And crisps definitely interest me.
I have onerous tasking ahead of me today. The crisp will help.
This was fun: gerrymandered districts as mini-golf holes. [link]
Yum berry crisp!!
I need to get my butt in gear—I’ve been up and showered since like 715, and so far managed to….walk to the fancy store to get one ingredient (spices that Trader Joe’s won’t have) and a breakfast pastry, and eat it with coffee. I need to clean my house, go grocery shopping, and cook. Lying on the bathroom floor at one point last night (because cool cool tile felt good) reminded me I haven’t had cleaners in a few months and really need to sweep and mop the bathroom floor…
Mmmm, berry crisp.
Heal-up-ma to Laura.
Emmett pinged me yesterday to send money because he's hosting an 8 hour DnD session today, and needed to go food shopping. He and his girlfriend have both done a lot more cooking and adventurous cooking over the last two years. I wish I could take credit for it, but I think he's learned entirely from YouTube videos . (Which, in fairness, is how I learned a lot of my recipes and techniques.)
Can confirm, crisp is good.
One onerous task down. Really, the most onerous one, so there's that.
Love that people are hosting get-togethers (meara, Emmett, etc.) I have done zero in-home entertaining in ages and ages. I miss it, and plan to start again. Of course, we did just get our dining room table, which took four months to be delivered and is still shy three chairs.
And we need to buy furniture so that people can, you know, sit somewhere besides the dining room table (OK, it's not that bad, but this place has a LOT of potential to get much more comfy, less spare, and, I don't know, intentionally designed? I've just never been much of a space designer or things on walls person in my own spaces. I appreciate and love to be IN comfy nicely done places... I just don't seem to DO them.) Well, and to be fair, it's a lot of decisions. I get decision overload.
I really miss hosting and cooking for the masses. Oh well, this will happen again.
Timelies all!
Ended up with a lot of rain last night. That plus above-freezing temperatures means there wasn't a huge amount of snow to deal with today.
