I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Second meeting today that has been cancelled as I was waiting for it to start. Irritating.

ETA not cancelled, just booted me out the first time I tried to join. Also irritating, but in a different way

Our wings are not tired.

I’m signed up to try Botox for my teeth grinding, today

I'll be interested in the results since I grind so much. Good luck!

I drove for the first time in over 2 weeks today! Sheesh. The nurse called me for the 2 week checkup and she was awesome with compassion and anticipating my concerns. Even cut me off to say she was writing a script right then as it was super common and expected. They have been amazing with follow-up calls and just being very responsive when I leave a message. In these days of medical staff being in super stress mode, it is really appreciated. I expressed my impatience with being unable to do what I expect and she made it clear that even though I don't see anything outside it was major surgery and my body has serious healing shit going on for 6 weeks. So big baby mode for a while.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Found yesterday’s leftover lasagna still in the oven when I went to preheat it to reheat the lasagna. Sigh. Luckily I was also making soup.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

My apartment is so cold I am sort of ignoring refrigeration rules As a Salmonella survivor I cannot say I recommend it!

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I've been hauling myself into the office all along and I'm really tired of it ... which isn't really reasonable, since I took the two days before Christmas off, we were closed for a bad snowstorm on Monday the 3rd, I took off the 6th and the 7th - more snow! - so I was out of the office again. I'm taking off Friday and Monday is a holiday - I'm trying to spread out my days off, since there are limited days I can be out of the office (working from home doesn't really work for me) - so I haven't worked a full week for quite a while. And I get enough leave time that I haven't been able to use it all up for several years (and no, unfortunately I can't share them out with others ... sorry).

Our wings are not tired.

Is it an option to start taking 4 day weeks on a permanent basis? Like every Friday off? The last couple years I really have gotten used to not going out.

In scrumptious food news, pumpkin swordfish is apparently running right now in local waters and it is so good. Swordfish is a favorite anyway but the pumpkin aspect has to do with their shrimp diet or something and it makes it almost buttery. Baked it and Brussels sprouts in an avocado oil and key lime juice sauce. Heavenly.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I wonder if all the action-heavy shows Mr. S watches are affecting his behavior. Sometimes it's hard to tell how much of his wild behavior is the ADHD/ODD, and how much is the Netflix.

Ive never heard of pumpkin swordfish but I’d sure give it a try!

The Botox was in and done in like 5 minutes (and $700). Supposedly it takes a couple weeks to really kick in so we shall see. I also went and bought an Oculus headset because my sister said hers is awesome And I am so bored these days. And my parents gave me a check for Christmas so…

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Sheryl, fwiw, my kids have a tendency to be wilder and harder to manage the more screen time they have. We had to cut back, especially on the weekends, and I really think it has made a difference in their behavior.
