Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Happy Birthday, Jesse and Theo!

We just ate yum takeout from a great Korean place. I think we're going to watch Encanta now-ish. Lovely day.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Happy Birthdays, Jesse and Theo!

It was a weird Christmas yesterday, largely because things are so fraught with Tim's dad's health. Tim visited him for much longer than he had planned, which meant we got to his family's Christmas dinner at 8 instead of 6 (no one cared, of course, because they totally understand everything that's going on). So we missed some family members who had to leave early, but sometimes that's how it goes. We ended up visiting with Tim's brother and SiL (the hosts) and nephew until about midnight, though, which was lovely. Still just a weird day.

I have a sinus infection from hell and feel like hot garbage, so that didn't help, either. But I did an online e-visit with a doctor in my primary care physician's practice, and I have antibiotics, so hopefully I'll start feeling better in a few days. I also have a biopsy Tuesday morning for something that's 99% sure to be benign, but, you know, I don't like being poked with needles and I don't like the nonzero chance that it isn't benign. Bah.

But! Holy shit, for Christmas my brother got me a Captain America hoodie and the hood is the cowl, eyeholes and all. It's perfect. I'll post a picture on Facebook once I dig it out of the bag I stashed it in. (Not 10 minutes after I opened it and tried it on [and then put it back in the bag], my mom said something to me and addressed me as "Batgirl," and I just sputtered and said "Bat...how can you confuse...how...how...Captain America and Batgirl are vastly different! How can you..." until Tim interrupted and said "You should probably let this one go.") (In retrospect, I think my mom was trolling me, but I can't be sure.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Is it like, old-fashioned Cap? I have one of those, and without the hood, my mother thought it was the Puerto Rican flag!

Our wings are not tired.

Today we celebrate the birth of amyparker! Happy birthday! I hope you have a beautiful day filled with love and treats.

Super cool, Steph. Yes, I am going to go with it being a mom trolling event.

Bracing myself for the Monday after holiday work deluge. It is always 3x the work on Monday mornings, but after a long weekend, oh the multiplier seems to work against me. Coffee being ingested now. Run to surgical center to get covid test at 10, but since I haven't been anywhere or done anything that should be fine.

Nice! The one I have is less techy, so just the star/stripes, so you can see where she got confused. [link]

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Oh DCP, even under simpler circumstances losing loved ones at Chrismas is so hard. My condolences.

Happy Birthday, amyparker!

More holiday chilling today. Picking up hogies for lunch, going over to visit and have dinner with DP's mom tonight. We go home tomorrow.

I got a travel watercolor kit for Christmas, which made me think of Lori... and also made me think I need to take some lessons, ha!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

dcp, I think you made the right call. Sincere condolences for your loss.. my Dad died just before Thanksgiving lo these many years ago, and it still flavors the holiday for me.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Ugh today y’all.

My left side, shingles vax sore arm, hip and shoulder muscles tight- might be related. Anyway that side of the body is a mood of FUCK YOU! today.

I’m in the office, no one else here in my immediate office and really not too many requests and items coming in so I am able to get done things off my list from Thursday, but…..

I keep almost crying… like, for why?!?

Wtf body?!?! Hormones??? I don’t even know.

So I am breaking down the tasks I need to do into single steps and just trying to do one thing at a time. I can tell I will lose it if I get multiple requests at the same time.

Do. Not. Like.

Do. Not. Recommend.
