See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oh, Tep. I'm so sorry for you and Tim and Tim's dad and, really, everyone. I'm just hearing med center nightmares from around Ohio, and even in our little bubble of ridiculously-vaxxed privilege here in SF I'm seeing some strains on the hospitals here, and I'm stressing out on your behalf (so maybe if you start to go into a tailspin you can let up on yourself a little--you're going to be upset no matter what, but I'm out here doing my best to siphon off the extra and spread it around a little).

And I just this moment connected the name Miette with meow. What an excellent name.

It is! And it reminds me of an essay I read decades ago in Premiere by a reviewer who was just discovering old French movies and who had her own favorite actors but wanted it known that her cat's favorite actors were Miou-Miou, Yvette Mimieux, and Jeanne Moreau because they were the only human actors whose names the cat could pronounce.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, that is charming.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm curled up under a blanket and a cat reading Mystery in White and eating chocolate covered Joe Joes. Its a pretty good situation if I do say so myself.

You are just crushing Saturday!

I had brunch with a cousin at a place that had a dog menu! Rory had bacon and eggs!

I’m thinking I may make cookies this afternoon—my friends went to the park and dunno when they’ll come back

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I had a plan to do many things today that do not seem to be happening. I had wanted to:

- get the big tree up and decorated
- get the small white tree decorated
- go to the grocery store
- do a couple hours of work work
- get some outside decorations up
- knit

None of those things happened YET. The other things I wanted to do, that did happen:

- go to Farmer's market
- go to normal Sat stores (3 stores)
- talk with friend
- do some laundry (load 3 is in now)
- clean some (dishes are done and roomba is roombaing)
- finish audiobook

And now that I've typed it all out and you all know, I will do one of the things on the top list.

Go, msbelle!

I went to a small, chill holiday brunch at a friend's house, and now I'm home. We're just going to hang here tonight. Landlords asked if they could send contractor over to fix ceiling (leak when washer hose, which was not secured to anything(?!?!) pulled out of wall. We secured it, but there's water damage. No big for us, plus a night at home.)

Am hoping to work on holiday cards.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Ken's status as "magnet for all injured/lost animals" continues even at work: a dog ran into the lobby soaking wet, very confused, and with an injured foot. He has provided warm towels and a snack, and is loading her into Rupert the Mini for a trip to the vet. May the owners have chipped her and kept the address updated; she's wearing a Nightmare Before Christmas collar and is terribly sweet, so we're already inclined to like her a great deal.

Our wings are not tired.

Aww, thank you Ken.

Poor DH is suffering with worry over one of his players. (not unusual) He came to the house once with him and I was so impressed. Few teens can sit and have an extended conversation with adults with comfort and ease. Super brainiac taking high-level math and science classes in the magnet program. A kid who DH could get a scholarship for easily when the time comes; he is just a sophomore. Anyway, he hadn't heard from him for a couple of days so he drove past his house and found furniture at the curb and no cars. I hope he hears from him as it is very likely his family has been evicted. This world too often sucks for too many.

I'm trying not to lose my shit with mac, but he has just spent almost $300 in the last 3 days. that's his whole last paycheck and I paid $600 of Dec rent. Not to mention that he has paid exactly $0 back on the car I bought in July.

I mean, I am stupid bad with money also, like do not have a cushion because I impulse buy shit I do not need, but JFC. We are 1 month shy of two years into this BS of him not doing a GD thing that he is supposed to. not school, not figuring out a way to be self-sufficient, not communicating with me or others in the family.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Mr. S woke up a bit before 8 this morning, which was fine, but has been a pain most of the day. I had to pull him out of the concert room where Gary was playing guitar because he was being disruptive. Luckily, the people in ops, which was nearby, had coloring books to keep him occupied.
