Ask a Manager is on vacation bur I hope someone sent this to her . I think its actually a great example of good HR and also a supervisor who was doing good at making accommodations, a co worker who was making things worse and then a supervisor who actually did the right thing in making changes when realizing they were treating Jorts and Jean differently.
Also if Jorts had been buttered and not margarined he might not have had diarrhea but maybe not.
I still haven't heard from workers comp about the new change in status. Still haven't received anything in the mail. I think I will have to get a lawyer involved if I want to get anywhere with this or get payment.
Ugh on workers comp, askye! Getting workers comp should be the easiest thing in the world and it makes me very angry that it's actually very difficult!
Apparently the third party administrator company Corvel is the absolute worst for dealing witv workers comp. Previously we had United dental which is the absolute worst became United Healthcare sucks the mew Dr I found for gp had a very visible negative reaction to hearing UnitedHealth when I mentioned it to him about..something .
I am thinking of all of you with health things and kid things and all the things.
I think I am in love with the Jean and Jorts saga. I retold it to my mom and she loves it too! I think I saw it from Dianne (possibly a Bronzer) and then Fay. I agree with askye that this is such a great example of a manager and HR handling things really well.
The airports are really busy today. I'm super not comfortable taking my mask off to eat and drink around this many people even without a new variant, and yet I need food and water to function.
Now my sister wants to know if I'd like to get together with our cousins while I'm visiting, which is not a question I want to answer on less than 4 hours of sleep. Like, I'm not particularly stoked about feeling obligated to travel this Christmas to see my immediate family. I guess my opening gambit is to ask if everyone is fully vaccinated, because if not, that's going to be a no from me, dawg.
Hang in there, shrift. I found myself eating in my car yesterday and just pulled the mask down for each bite and recovered my face while I chewed and felt super ridiculous because I was in my car alone but figured it was maybe good practice? Although if that even makes a difference to safety I have no idea. My point it, sorry you are obligated to travel and I hope it's all as ok as it can be.
I'm grateful for the availability of KN95 masks, unlike in 2020, because my biggest issue with surgical masks and virtually all cloth masks is how they get stuck to my mouth when I breathe. But the KN95s are more beak-like (without, alas, being a true Plague Doctor mask) and stay all pointy and therefore away from my mouth, and it's all good.
Timelies all!
It’s been interesting seeing various people singing with masks on. I will say that the clear masks program participants got from the con are a bit freaky looking.
My sore throat is gone: I think it was actually just from talking too much on Tuesday. Fingers crossed.
Yeah, I have often found myself with a sore throat the day after wearing a mask all day, and I had one this morning after using bad technique in choir rehearsal last night. But then I also had a headache and blew my nose, so I went ahead and did a rapid test. Negative, which is good, since my mother is having a bad-idea party tomorrow.
Also if Jorts had been buttered and not margarined he might not have had diarrhea but maybe not.
It is kind of driving me nuts that everyone is saying buttered when he was margarined! Margarined!! (and yes, I saw Alison from Ask A Manager saw it on twitter.)

That is what our head of student health has been trying to get people to do, so I'm going to say yes.
