Librarian Warlord

Folks, think hard about denying people health care (and making them pay full freight *is* denying people health care -- don't fool yourselves about that) because there are plenty of lawmakers who think addicts, obese, smokers, etc., should all be denied care, too. Do I think they are fools for not being vaccinated? Hell yes. Do I hate what they are doing? Hell yes. But I am not going to deny them what I believe is a human right.

Laura, I'm sorry for what will be a difficult day.

Thrive to spite them

I went back to the walk in and talked to thr NP. I was frustrated but tried to just stick with what was going on.

So he had to be reminded why I was there but then the remembered me. Anyway I told him what was going on and that I had struggled with trying to work and get in touch with Corvel

He was surprised I hadn't gotten an appointment with a neurologist so I guess he was vague in his limitations thinking I'd see a neurologist who would be more specific. I don't know.

I mentioned needing to wear sunglasses and he said I didn't have that issue before. I just looker at him my mask and sunglasses hiding my "are you sitting me" face. I told him. I was wearing sunglasses when you same last time. I told you about my eye problems. I said I am OK not wearing them at the house but at work with all the lights and scanners it gets to be too much.

So at some point he just stops and says. I'm going to change this to your out of work until you see a neurologist.

I thanked him a lot. I told him this has been frustrating.

I also had a dizzy spell while I was there .

The HR lead is going to be in this morning so I'm going to see her in person amd explain this.

Our wings are not tired.

It's good to hear that you found a doctor who listened, askye. Do you have the neuro scheduled?

But I am not going to deny them what I believe is a human right.

Yes, I agree completely. I think a lot of it is just us venting frustration at the fools who have made this virus so much worse than it should have been. Corporate entities have been giving discounts on healthcare costs to non-smokers and that kind of a thing for a while. Of course the only real answer is universal health care because our system is not only unfair, but incredibly frustrating for everyone.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'm going to change this to your out of work until you see a neurologist.
Am I the only person thinking this should have been Step 1? ::hands Askye a fruity beverage of her choice::

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Sparky, you're right ... it appealed to the nastier side of me. I keep seeing stories about people with heart attacks, strokes, accidents, and so on, who can't find medical care because the beds, equipment and doctors are all trying to keep unvaccinated people alive. I spent a number of years with essentially no health insurance - one place pretty much only covered maternity care, as far as I could tell, and a different insurance was so terrible I couldn't find anyone who'd take it. I was actually asked to leave a clinic because they wouldn't accept it.

On the lighter side, the first person to not appreciate LDB.

Man, it must have sucked to be too nice a person to tell the little kid what he should do with his drum! I, on the other hand, would have had no difficulty providing a demonstration.

askye, here's hoping workers comp can get their act together and get you the accommodations that will actually help you recover.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Yikes, askye, it must. be so hard to navigate all of this while still suffering.

Me, I'm at home bcz someone at our office holiday party yesterday (yes it was stupid to hold it, argh) tested positive last night. I sat next to him for half an hour (masked) during the White Elephant Game. And then went merrily on to two other unmasked social events. I R Dum.

Anyway, now I'm isolating for a while, and I will test myself tomorrow or Friday -- I got some tests from Target last week.

I have no desire to continue working today, but I have shit to do.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I'm sitting at the airport waiting to lose the LBD game.
