Yikes, askye, it must. be so hard to navigate all of this while still suffering.
Me, I'm at home bcz someone at our office holiday party yesterday (yes it was stupid to hold it, argh) tested positive last night. I sat next to him for half an hour (masked) during the White Elephant Game. And then went merrily on to two other unmasked social events. I R Dum.
Anyway, now I'm isolating for a while, and I will test myself tomorrow or Friday -- I got some tests from Target last week.
I have no desire to continue working today, but I have shit to do.
I'm sitting at the airport waiting to lose the LBD game.
You are right: I admit the Kroger story appealed to the dark side of me & absolutely universal healthcare is the only real solution. And had we universal healthcare is it wishful thinking that more people would trust medical opinions?
Sparky, thanks for speaking up.
I've been meaning to make this recommendation for shoes -- Ryka shoes are the bomb.
Thanks for the rec, askye! I will check them out since I need wide shoes for my janky feets and I don't always love the styles available at Vionic.

I don't love this for you. Fingers crossed that you continue to test negative.

I already lost the LDB game over Thanksgiving.

I lost because of Tim's goddamn holiday cheer and accompanying Spotify holiday playlists. Still avoiding Whamhalla, although I actually like that cursed song. I just haven't been listening to holiday music on my own.
Good luck Consuela, yikes!!
I saw something about the French carol called (these days) Patapan was originally titled something along the lines of "willie get your little drum". It's pretty music, but it may have inspired the dreaded LDB. Here's Patapan ... ignore if you dread even the hint of THAT SONG.
I'm still in LDB & Mariah (weird, usually get knocked out on her first), but I did get sent to Whamhalla last week. I had been feeling unwell so I took a nap in my car at lunch. It was a warm day so I had the fan on and didn't bother to shut off the CD player, which was *just* enough to drain the battery. I had to call AAA after work, when they finally got here (rush hour traffic) and got the car started, I got in and the CD player had ejected the CD, the radio came on and George Michael immediately hit me with his poor decision-making. Totally adding insult to injury!
Timelies all!
Made it to Worldcon. Mr. S has school the rest of the week, so one of us will drive him up in the morning, the nanny will pick him up and one of us will get him around 5. We’ll see how this works out.
How are things going with the new nanny?
