We have a big deep pedestal tub, but we don't use it for baths. When we renovate the bathroom, we're having it taken out and replacing it with a nice big shower with a bench seat instead. Because we are old and the body parts that are falling apart are not very fixable, and getting in and out of a shower is a hell of a lot easier than climbing over the edge of a deep pedestal tub to use the shower fixture.
And *that* is what sucks about getting old and getting autoimmune diseases and really bad back issues: can't use the bathtub as a bathtub any more.
I *am* looking forward to a nice big shower, though. And a goddamn heated floor.
When I get my dream tub, it’ll need a hoist. But I am getting that tub.
According to the Nilly calendar today we celebrate the birth of Consuela! Happiest birthday wishes. May this day and the year to follow be filled with lovely surprises and joy.
In case there was any doubt that I have left behind my nice person days, I visited an old friend's FB page and smiled at his report of both he and his wife having Covid the past couple of weeks. He was a boyfriend in my teens and I friended him on FB until he became a devoted Trumper and then unfriended him. All his crap is public so from time to time I see what he is up to, like today when a thing came up in memories. They recovered, but I just still enjoy idiot anti-vaxers getting what they are due. I still wonder what happened to me, but I should just embrace my new vindictive reality.
Woke up to sirens and helicopters this morning. There was a three alarm fire right by my home! My building is the yellow building in the background.
So much smoke, but at least my building was upwind from most of it.
Eeep! That's a lot of flame. Good the wind cooperated for you.
It's a FOUR alarm fire now.
Next building over from the Starbucks.
