Our wings are not tired.

It is particularly mind-blowing that nurses that are working in hospitals would not be vaccinated. They have seen the Covid patients. Infuriating and beyond my comprehension.

I'll be having surgery before the end of year, but I feel comfortable enough now that I am boosted.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I am officially a New Yorker again

Congratulations!

the chief medical officer is about to hold our local population down and just vaccinate them, and this is just based on public facing press releases.

Blow darts. Or alibis. I would be down for either.

"I yam what I yam and that's all what I yam," -- Popeye

Onerous medical stuff completed. I review the results with my doctor on Monday.

I'm going to boast a little. There was a small boy, perhaps three years old, in the reception area with his father and grandmother. They were waiting for the grandmother to be called back for some test or procedure. The boy was bored and restless. Even his father's phone couldn't hold his attention. I went and got a business card from the supply at the intake nurse's station and folded a jumping frog to give to the boy. It went over very well. I think I made his day.

Timelies all!

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Aw, well done, dcp!

Hope DH continues to be okay & dealing with the truck not too onerous, Laura!

but I made it there and I am proud of myself!

And we are proud of you! The journey of a thousand miles and all that!

Epic I am in La Jolla!

Nice! I am out in the burbs. Your views are substantially better! And with new, improved internet, yay! (edit: just verified my cell # is in my profile in case you want to reach out while you're here)

Congrats, Trudy! And though the maple syrup/tea thing would never have occurred to me, now that you say it, it sounds good.

Not commenting on the anti-vaxxers - no time for a rage blackout this afternoon.

Edit (again); check out that awesome slumbernut!

Still settling in Epic but I’ll try to hit you up!

We walked down to the beach a few blocks away and the dogs are allowed there after 4pm so we got to let them run around.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Dcp, that is so cute!

WRT to the nurses who are unvaccinated I keep recalling a podcast so listened to on Slate (so maybe Jesse listened too) about protests against the NYC vaccine mandate for city workers. One worker held a sign that just said “I am very angry”. I think for some folks it was a thing they thought they could control after all of this. Not rational, but still. And I can tell the chief medical officer is also very angry. And we are all, all very angry. And that is not a good state for healthcare providers or educators to be in. It is like everyone is stuck in that Alice’s Restaurant verse where he says “I want to Kill. Kill. Kill.”

What is even happening?

I'm holding a good thought for your results, dcp.

As for making the frog? That's so kind of you. A little thing like that can make a big difference, not just to the child, but to the parents, too.
