Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I think it was last year (maybe the year before) I was LDB'd by the outside speakers of a cigar bar.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I was LDB'd by my own brother-in-law the day after Thanksgiving! And then I had to explain the game to my entire extended family (along with Whamageddon) because apparently this is not as common a thing as I thought it was.

I feel this. I'm still on a campaign to get @@ into common consciousness for eyeroll, all credit to Jesse. Well, the campaign has waned a bit over the years, but I did just use it on a FB post today!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

It's always a challenge, between shopping in department stores and half the local radio stations converting to 24/7 Christmas music the day after Thanksgiving. But I wouldn't have guessed I'd lose going "more Mongolian beef please, pa rum pum pum pum—dammit!"

Went to a new-to-me Thai place for lunch, and they used SO MUCH SUGAR. Eww. It was like eating candy for lunch.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I just sent off an email to the Purveyors of Robyn Hitchcock's online stuff.

I signed off, "Yours in a wry array of awry."

Which I think is (a) the only way to end a message to Robyn Hitchcock's people; and (b) may only and exclusively be employed with other Hitchcockians.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Ugh, bad very bad.

There are probably people who'd like it ... not me, but ....

In me me me news, I really love Michaels. In addition to all the craft-y stuff, they carry this candy that's basically a fruit flavored hard candy with a filling of sale, lime and chile. So ... sweet and very spicy combined. I like it a lot.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That sounds good, I'll have to look for it next time I'm in Michaels

I love it when a higher up schedules a recurring meeting with no explanation and at the first one says "I want this to be a conversation" and the silence is deafening because we were not prepared for a conversation, we did not know what this meeting was for, we were feeling pretty good about showing up at all and he says a couple of times "I don't expect a power point presentation" like I think he's joking but maybe not? Really great for that whole I-don't-know-what-my-job-actually-is feeling I have going on.

But two days in a row with no interruptions to our regular processes, knock on wood, so things are looking up!
