I had the option to choose any of the varieties for my booster - I went with Pfizer same as the first two shots because I don't know of any reason not to. Maybe if I'd tried one of the others I could have gotten an earlier date, but I didn't think to try that.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Pity party post. Feel free to ignore.
First, I apparently no longer have any ability to adjust to the time change. I am out like a light at about 9 PM no matter what I am doing, and awake and unable to get back to sleep at 5 AM. I want this madness to end.
Also, the world has gone mad and I don't want to deal. I'd like to get on my still theoretical boat and go out to sea and live on the fish I catch and go to shore maybe once a month to stock up on frozen veggies. That's doable, right?
Yeah I filled worker's comp. As soon as I called the team manager about it she told me to go fill out an incident report. And then Saturday when I realized I had to go see someone I went and called the worker's comp about it. There was never any suggestion that I shouldn't file worker's comp it was more like-- you need to slow down and look where you are going. I should have gone on Friday when it happened but I wasn't thinking clearly and didn't actually say to anyone out loud how bad I was feeling and that it was hard for me to think straight. Although I think it was mostly the one asset protection guy I talked to, I think if I had talked to the AP manager she would have called in the incident report immediately and had me talk to someone who would have figured out I needed to go to the ER.
To be fair, I know I have a tendency to go too fast since I've heard my whole life I need to slow down some and not rush and double check my work. I try but... it's not how my brain works.
Anyway I called and talked to my manager and told her I'm feeling better but my vision still feels off and so I'll go back Wed. And then Wed she's going to put me up at the In Store pick up counter where I can run things (she said "we really need an adult up there" --not that the workers aren't adults but they are all, young and inexperienced with this) and that way I don't have to move around much or look at a screen. The store won't be open on Thanksgiving so I'm not sure what I'll do then, probably pack things or something. We will have in store pick up so I can probably bag up the orders that come in, if any do.
I really should limit how much I've been looking at a screen but it's boring not reading, watching tv, being on my phone, my computer, or doing anything mentally or physically strenuous.
Laura, age might be a factor in your falling asleep early - I'm a good deal older, but I don't last much past 9:00 (and then usually on a weekend when I don't have to get up in the morning). The boat idea has its advantages, but you'd need one with a freezer. Unless you develop a taste for seaweed ....
In happier news, the annual Nova Scotia holiday tree has arrived in Boston. A thank-you for their sending supplies after the 1917 Halifax harbor (harbour?) disaster.

There are a fair number of audiobooks and things like old radio shows on YouTube. Not to mention podcasts you could listen to.
Matilda and I have been cleaning house all day in advance of hosting Thanksgiving and she keeps popping out of her room periodically to proclaim woefully, "I'm having such a good hair day and nobody can see it!"
Timelies all!
I got my booster shot today.(Moderna, like the others, since I got it at work.) My arm's sore. Hopefully that will be it for side effects.
This time around I got the additional side effect of sleeping most of Sunday away, which is really winning the lottery in terms of side effects.
Laura, it takes me longer to adjust to DST changes, now.
Since I only work 30 hours a week, I mostly manage with naps. It fucks with my sleep cycle but at least I’m less exhausted.
I mostly manage with naps
Naps are lovely if you can finesse them.
I think an early afternoon/Siesta-ish nap is ideal.
