Damn it! You know what? I'm sick of this crap. I'm sick of being the guy who eats insects and gets the funny syphilis. As of this moment, it's over. I'm finished being everybody's butt monkey!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I really should limit how much I've been looking at a screen but it's boring not reading, watching tv, being on my phone, my computer, or doing anything mentally or physically strenuous.

There are a fair number of audiobooks and things like old radio shows on YouTube. Not to mention podcasts you could listen to.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Matilda and I have been cleaning house all day in advance of hosting Thanksgiving and she keeps popping out of her room periodically to proclaim woefully, "I'm having such a good hair day and nobody can see it!"

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I got my booster shot today.(Moderna, like the others, since I got it at work.) My arm's sore. Hopefully that will be it for side effects.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

This time around I got the additional side effect of sleeping most of Sunday away, which is really winning the lottery in terms of side effects.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Laura, it takes me longer to adjust to DST changes, now.

Since I only work 30 hours a week, I mostly manage with naps. It fucks with my sleep cycle but at least I’m less exhausted.

Naps are lovely if you can finesse them.

I think an early afternoon/Siesta-ish nap is ideal.

Our wings are not tired.

I wish I was able to nap. It almost never happens. I worked with a guy who was all about the power nap. He would sit in a lounge chair in the corner of the office and be out in moments, sleep for 10-15 minutes tops and wake up bright and chipper. So envious. Sometimes I can get myself super comfy and read for a bit to knock myself out, but it is a rare occasion. My best bet for beating my mid-afternoon exhaustion slump is to go for a swim. Refreshes me and wakes me up when sleep isn't really an option.

We managed to stay up until 9:30 last night, woo! Didn't get up until 6:30 which is a recent sleeping in record, although to be honest, I did start reading my book a little before 6 to keep myself in bed.

Still no word from the house buyer, although considering his background I would expect him to have a formal offer drawn up. Dude graduated from Columbia, he is not going to make an offer by email. Still believe this couple is going to live here.

Fingers still crossed, Laura.

Thanks, Jen. I really would like something settled in my life. Too many balls in the air.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Sending vibes, Laura!!

Also, I recently heard this good podcast about napping that said if you're not a napper, you're not a napper, but 20 minutes of quite time can be just as good. [link]
