Yes -t, we are all vaccinated and my mom aunt and I are boostered this week. It is probably a non issue, but I am just angry. Also, I have realized that it is really hard to get a Covid test if you don’t drive, because everything is drive through. If we even have the sniffles, we need the test to work.

I'm doing Thanksgiving with my parents this year - they are fully vaxxed and boosted, I am vaxxed but not yet boosted, we have all been masking up when out in the world, I think we are probably pretty safe. I had forgotten that we opted out of getting together last year until I saw the decision come up in my FB memories, which made me second guess a little bit, but that was pre-vaccination
Yep, same. Everyone 12+ will be vaxxed (and I think boosted), and we're doing pre-trip tests just in case. (The one under-12 will be half-vaxxed, which is the best we can do given how late the FDA approvals came in.)
I am so done with this country and the disease of gun culture and racism.
I'm on my way home for Thanksgiving right now, although COVID cases are spiking in Michigan and that makes me nervous. Everyone who will be there is fully vaxxed and almost all boosted except the under 12s, who got their first shots recently.
My extended family, though? Let's just say that I will be putting my foot down if my parents think I'm spending time at Christmas with any family members who have chosen not to be vaccinated.
I had to share this with this group. You'll appreciate it.
We are going to my sister's, and they decided everyone attending needed to be vaxxed. I think we're all boosted, too, except for my S-i-L's niece and nephew, but they are vaxxed. It will be just the six of us. A calm Thanksgiving with people who like to play board games. Winning!
We will see my DP's bro and family for dinner out on Monday, AND then we'll see his mom at least once or twice (she's going to the brother's for T-Day), AND I may get to see my friend who lives up there, too. Oh, and DP and I are having brunch on our five year Dataversary at the same place we had our first date, also a brunch. Nice!
We are skipping Thanksgiving this year again. We usually do Friendsgiving but I rented out the local skating rink for 2 hours on Thanksgiving Day. It may only be me, but I will skate and eat pizza.

Ha!
I have no idea what I'm doing for Thanksgiving this year. The friend that I had done Friendsgiving with went psycho anti-masker. Last I heard she moved to Arizona (because California taxes are as bad as mask mandates...or something, IDK). I'm bummed at the loss of the person she was pre-pandemic, but everything I've seen from her in the last 18-20 months makes me just fine with missing her. I thought my cousin might invite me (or me & bro), but I haven't heard from her. Right now I'm leaning toward picking up a rotisserie chicken and just having a quiet dinner for one. Or just going to a movie. We'll see. Between the pneumonia, then the side effects of the anti-biotics, I've been some variety of "sick" for over a month now - I'll be glad to just have a few chill days at home.
We're going to Thanksgiving at Tim's nephew's house -- I think. Other than one niece who lives and dies by her spreadsheets and Leslie Knope-esque binders, the rest of the family is SUPER casual about planning shit. So as of 3 weeks ago, I heard the plan was Thanksgiving at nephew David's new house (we all think he sneaky proposed to his GF and they want to announce it at dinner), but then I haven't heard a damn thing since then. And if people want me to bring something, I need to know now so I can get it at the grocery store this weekend.
Hmm. Maybe I'll just plan that, no matter where we go, I'll bring a pumpkin pie, wine, and a charcuterie board, and make my grocery list accordingly. Okay, I like that plan.
oh dear lord ... my office has decided we need the MFA - multi-factor authentication - to get on our network
First it tried to force me to purchase MS Office Premium ... fought my way past that. Then I had to BUY the QR code reader app. Now I'm trying to get the MS Authenticator ... and it looks like I'm going to have to BUY A NEW PHONE because Authenticator says my device isn't compatible with the version they have. Either that or not be able to do any work.
It has been a BITCH of a day. Can't get assistance from anyone - it's getting close to 6:00pm and I've been in the office since before 8:00am. We're moving in a week and a half, so I've been packing, trying to get some actual work done, had to walk three blocks out of my way to get lunch. And our tech support can't figure out what the f*ck is up.
