Happy birthday and booster, sumi.
Owen has come out as transgender (new name Robin). She doesn't want to come out publicly until after high school--which, hey, I can totally understand. And Oliver is learning transmasc. So I'm back to a son and a daughter.
I've always loved the name Robin. Your last sentence there makes me think of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry always breaks even.
I think realizing that my kids’ gender and identity is all about THEIR journey and their dreams and that my assumptions made before they were born don’t really matter as much as their happiness—and, in fact, don’t come close to touching the amazing people they are growing into.

Here's hoping you can avoid as much of the estate shitshow as possible, Cashmere.

I know you love and support your kids unconditionally, but seriously, are you okay with her breaking your O-based naming theme.

Well, Robin has an "o" in it.
Seriously, Cashmere, I'm glad your kids are in a place where they can be themselves (except maybe in high school, but that's frequently a piranha pit anyway).
Even for cis-gendered kids high school is often a piranha pit.
High school is nothing but pirhanas all the way down.
oh dear ... there was a story last week about three men in Brazil. They went out to a farm and were attacked by a swarm of bees. So they went and jumped in the river ... and the piranhas (real ones) attacked. Two of the men got away, but the third drowned.
Timelies all!
Happy Birthday Sumi!
There was another incident at school with Mr. S. They called Gary, who texted the nanny. I hope the rest of the week goes better.

Ha! I thought about that.
I love nature-based names, though!
Piranhas All the Way Down—that is high school to a T.
David, (thanks to her stint in college radio) Robin’s listening choices include:
Animal Collective, Xiu Xiu, Yves Tumor, Sweet Trip, black midi, Dean Blunt, Aphex Twin, Car Seat Headrest, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.
She isn’t as tiny as Oliver—more grown up human size, so she wears a large t.
