Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

A couple of years ago, in the elevator in my old apartment building, I ran into a young man wearing a Bad Religion t-shirt. He was quite impressed that I - an older woman - did not run away in horror. He was also impressed when I told him I'd met the mother of their lead singer, so I not only knew who they were but knew someone connected to them.

Our wings are not tired.

Cool cred there! Young people are so surprised when we know stuff.

Thrive to spite them

Robin and Oliver are cool names and cool kids with great parents.

I get wanting to wait until after high school.

I'm a little unsure if this is more cute than creepy or the other way 'round.

That's a tough one to call, Todd.

Ugh. Found a problem with my project yesterday—a bunch of reports were using the wrong template. It’s not easy to tell what template was used (it really ought to be but it’s not in any of our summary lists or anything, you have to go into each report). I found one was my bad but most were from before me. The person writing the report was the one who did it wrong but I review them and ought to have noticed. So I emailed the person who was before me and said heads up, we found this, not just from you, and just wanted to let you know so you can be careful when reviewing in the future. She apparently is “intimidated” by me and thought I was “mad” at her and talked to her boss and replied angrily to me by cc’ing MY boss to say “ask [the other person who was also doing reviews]”. I just talked with her on the phone and was like dude, I emailed just you, to give you a heads up. I didn’t cc your boss, I was only “mad” at you in that this is some more work for me but you weren’t the only one who did it so it’s not an isolated issue. Just….ugh.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Oh, meara, ugh, indeed.

Toddson, teeth creep me out, so, I lean creepy.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Dang. I've always taken a personal, no CC message informing me of an error as a courtesy that lets me correct something without anyone else having to know. And that's my customary practice to avoid embarrassing both people who report to me and specific personnel at a client, as long as it's not an issue that other people need to be made aware of.

Ugh, meara. You shouldn't need to walk on eggshells with her. Also, what Matt said.
