Owen has come out as transgender (new name Robin). She doesn't want to come out publicly until after high school--which, hey, I can totally understand. And Oliver is learning transmasc. So I'm back to a son and a daughter.
Wow, that's a lot, but so proud of them and you and your husband have done such a good job.
Robin & Oliver: really feels like there needs to be more archery in their lives.
And their wardrobes should be heavily oriented towards green.
How are you doing?
I’m okay. I miss Dad a lot. his estate will probably be a shitshow dealing with the house and figuring out a plan for my brother. But I can only give them my opinion and see what happens. Thank you.
I think realizing that my kids’ gender and identity is all about THEIR journey and their dreams and that my assumptions made before they were born don’t really matter as much as their happiness—and, in fact, don’t come close to touching the amazing people they are growing into.
Oliver has some startling green eyes and looks fantastic in green. Robin still likes obscure band t-shirts.
First world problem of the day: people who include checks with forms are (1) stapling them to the forms (so they have to be removed from the form without tearing them); (2) taping them to the forms (again requiring that they be removed without damaging either check or form); and (3) doing intricate folding of said checks for ... reasons? (I've taken to referring to this as office-gami). sigh ... people ....

How obscure? I can help her out thrifting in SF.
edit: Also, what size t-shirt? M or L?
Happy birthday and booster, sumi.

I've always loved the name Robin. Your last sentence there makes me think of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry always breaks even.

Here's hoping you can avoid as much of the estate shitshow as possible, Cashmere.

I know you love and support your kids unconditionally, but seriously, are you okay with her breaking your O-based naming theme.

Well, Robin has an "o" in it.
Seriously, Cashmere, I'm glad your kids are in a place where they can be themselves (except maybe in high school, but that's frequently a piranha pit anyway).
Even for cis-gendered kids high school is often a piranha pit.
