Well it’s finally happened today, an employee wrote into the vax email and inferred that we were the Gestapo by starting the email with May I have your papers please in German.. Oh because we are asking people to register and supply us with their verification number. Good times

Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Ugh. People. SMDH
Timelies all!
It’s raining pretty hard here right now.
Meanwhile, Mr. S, who woke us up at 4:30 this morning, is a bit under the weather. Gary kept him home from school, and took him to the pediatrician. While we wait for the results of the COVID test, we’ll keep him home tomorrow and I’ll stay home with him. Sigh…
Oh dear, negative~results~ma for Mr. S.
Good grief, msbelle. Sigh
That sounds obnoxious and awful msbelle. Dang.
but today we do start requiring vaccine cards to dine in and go to bars (some places were already requiring) so maybe that will help?
We've been requiring vax cards to eat indoors or go to movies for a while now.
City is like 83% vaxed, and the positive test rate is down to 1.17%. Cases have dropped another 20% in just the last week, and the R-0 has been <1 for almost a month. As soon as they allow kids 6-11 to get shots, I expect there to be a huge flurry of those, which should help cut off transmission even more.
Cindy thanks for the info.
I had Moderna and it was just over 6 months ago. I fall under tbe category of both being fat and I work with the public. I looked at some guidelines and it mentioned front line workers and included supermarkets but really anyone who works in retail is getting face to face witb people.
It rained much of the day here I'm feeling kind of down, which I think is reasonable . I want my cats and my creature comforts of home.
I have a wide open schedule until Sat so we have time to do other things. We may drive to St Marks lighthouse or something.
Wow! SF is doing so well!
Illinois: not so much. Well, at least my part of it.
Edited to add: has anyone used a clear mask? Not a face shield but a mask that someone who reads lips could read lips through?
I’ve been thinking of getting one because we have some patrons for whom it would be nice to have staff whose lips they could read.
askye, it's totally reasonable to be feeling down. Much love to you.
sumi, I haven't used one, but my (young-adult) son is treated at a Children's hospital, and one of his specialists does. It was nice to see his smile through the mask, when we were in the emergency ward a couple of months ago. I remember thinking the plastic was of a better quality than I would have expected -- nice and clear.
Today is Fiona's birthday. I know I see her from time to time in some thread, but can't remember where. I do hope she is having a good day and feels the waves of joyous wishes headed her way.
Tuesday. Has to be better than Monday, right? DH got home last night, so that part is good. Not alert enough yet to know anymore.
