I like pancakes 'cause they're stackable. Ooo, and waffles 'cause you can put things in the little holes if you wanted to.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

sj,

Mr.S behaves much better at school/daycare than at home. (There been a number of days where I show up to pick him up, the teacher tells me how good he's been...and he runs out the door away from me.)

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yeah, that sounds right, Sheryl. I took her out to eat tonight after karate because TCG has a meeting and I didn't feel like cooking.

Our wings are not tired.

Yes, every time I told parents how polite and awesome their kids were when visiting mine they would look at me like, "what, my kid!". Mine were always best for others too. Guess it is better than acting up away from home!

The boys in the out of town basketball tournament this past weekend were all wonderfully polite and well behaved. I was impressed. I expect they aren't that way all the time!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I read somewhere—was it here?—that kids act up where they are the most comfortable. They are less likely to act up around strangers or other people's parents because they're less certain about what will happen.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

And now husband is sick, presumably with the norovirus or whatever I had. We tried to be careful about contagion, sigh.

Because books.

What Calli said about kids acting out. They won't test limits with people they're not completely comfortable with.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yeah, I've heard that too but I don't remember the source. But it makes sense, regardless.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Note to self: When you wake up extremely depressed with no good reason you are most likely going to have a splitting headache by nightfall. I never connect this until after.

Oh no, Dana. I'm so sorry.

Dana, quick recovery to your husband.

I still have a uti. So, I need another round of antibiotics, and I'm not sure I would have ever found out if I didn't call my doctor myself. Headache is still here. I hate all of this.
