Jayne (Husband): Oh, I think you might wanna reconsider that last part. See, I married me a powerful ugly creature. Mal (Wife): How can you say that? How can you shame me in front of new people? Jayne (Husband): If I could make you purtier, I would. Mal (Wife): You are not the man I met a year ago.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Can you get it delivered?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Groceries? Normally, yes but not for the specialty items I need. Plus I need alcohol. I'll probably put off the shopping until Thursday when my inlaws are here or Friday when ltc is back at camp. At least I have a plan.

ltc was perfect at camp today. Apparently she always listens and gets changed for swim with no problems.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's what you want, right? I mean, assuming a child can't be perfect 100% of the time, better to have them behave for the people you're paying? t /not a parent

Yes. It's just funny. Who is this kid they're describing?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I do think this is a classic dynamic, for whatever reason.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yeah, that's something I have heard from my mother about us, for sure.

Hey. New board.

That is my oldest too. Always perfect at school / camp but pretty troublesome at home. Though this year he lost the school mojo about halfway through and started to be a bit more naughty there (not bad just not perfect little angel anymore) which is weirdly reassuring.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

sj,

Mr.S behaves much better at school/daycare than at home. (There been a number of days where I show up to pick him up, the teacher tells me how good he's been...and he runs out the door away from me.)

Yeah, that sounds right, Sheryl. I took her out to eat tonight after karate because TCG has a meeting and I didn't feel like cooking.
