I'm going to see to Wesley, see if he's still whimpering.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm impressed you're still hanging in up north, Laura! You must be freezing.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Is it really going to snow? I need to find shoes that are not flip flops. Today I work fleece leggings and flip flops.

Our wings are not tired.

Brendon put in a new breaker and ran a new dedicated outlet for a space heater in the bedroom for us today! (if there are 2 space heaters on the same breaker it pops) Still not going to make it more than a week.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

One of my crew got hurt today. The last I heard was that urgent care was sending him to the ER for x-rays and a CT scan, with some concern that there could be kidney damage. Here's hoping it's just some unpleasant bruising.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh no! Yes, I hope it's not too bad.

Just got word that he's "not broken" so I guess that means x-rays are done. No mention of kidneys, so I'm gonna take that as a good sign. It sounds like pain and swelling are localized to his hip now, which he is supposed to rest for a few days before reassessing.

The medical stuff will be covered by workmen's comp, but he's hourly so he won't have income for the rest of the week (at least). I may see if our coworkers want to contribute toward some food delivery gift cards.

Ooh that sucks. I am very glad that this injury should not really hurt my life financially or work-wise. Poor guy.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

In case you wondered, this is the kind of thing vets do to your cat when you're not around. (I don't THINK it's abusive ... your opinion may be different.)

Ugh. I tried to not take more oxy in the middle of the night (I've been waking up and taking some every night, but last night I wasn't in pain when I woke up!) but I think that was a mistake, as I feel awful this morning. (At least I hope that's why, and not any worse reason!). Baby steps.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Oh, Laura, I'm so glad that the truck thing turned out to be such an easy fix!

I just loved the Buffista sprogs -- both unbelievably cute and smart, and really really well behaved for their ages, too.

(And it was Kid Day at the restaurant, with extra toys and games on hand, so before brunch there was pumpkin-painting, and crayoning and putting snappy construction toy items together -- so the kids had fun, and we had fun watching them.)
