She didn't even touch her pumpkin. It's a freak with no face.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Just got word that he's "not broken" so I guess that means x-rays are done. No mention of kidneys, so I'm gonna take that as a good sign. It sounds like pain and swelling are localized to his hip now, which he is supposed to rest for a few days before reassessing.

The medical stuff will be covered by workmen's comp, but he's hourly so he won't have income for the rest of the week (at least). I may see if our coworkers want to contribute toward some food delivery gift cards.

Ooh that sucks. I am very glad that this injury should not really hurt my life financially or work-wise. Poor guy.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

In case you wondered, this is the kind of thing vets do to your cat when you're not around. (I don't THINK it's abusive ... your opinion may be different.)

Ugh. I tried to not take more oxy in the middle of the night (I've been waking up and taking some every night, but last night I wasn't in pain when I woke up!) but I think that was a mistake, as I feel awful this morning. (At least I hope that's why, and not any worse reason!). Baby steps.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Oh, Laura, I'm so glad that the truck thing turned out to be such an easy fix!

I just loved the Buffista sprogs -- both unbelievably cute and smart, and really really well behaved for their ages, too.

(And it was Kid Day at the restaurant, with extra toys and games on hand, so before brunch there was pumpkin-painting, and crayoning and putting snappy construction toy items together -- so the kids had fun, and we had fun watching them.)

Punishingly Intricate

Everyone will help create and update a terminology list!"

Ooh ooh we did that!! Not "everyone" but my team!! And we integrated into the internal chat app we use and gave people an easy way to request a change or addition.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Creating lists is fun. Getting people to USE THEM WHEN WRITING DOCUMENTATION (or, you know, CONTRACTS) is a whole. nother. thing.

Our office standard is SUPPOSEDLY the AP Style Manual .l. but do people use it? bah!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

So Mr. S had a meltdown in the education office when I tried to get him to go to the car. (No, he didn't take a nap today, why do you ask?) Sigh...
