Loving thoughts to all on this Mother's Day. Joyous for some, fraught for so many. When I stopped at the grocery story this morning one of the employees ran over to the cashier to let her know that another employee had just had her baby. It made me smile because that is a sweet mother's day gift.
DIL asked me and her mom what we wanted to do this year. I told her I thought it would be nice if Bobby cooked for all of us, because he is a great chef. So he is grilling something or other at my house today. So pool party at Chez Holt.
That sounds well-nigh perfect, Laura.
Y'all, I thought my old vacuum worked OK -- not great, but OK. But I just used the new one and pulled one full cat's worth of hair out of my rugs. YIKES.
Maybe your new vacuum is super awesome
You know you are an adult when a good vacuum makes you happy.
Timelies all!
Just got back from seeing Avengers:Endgame. A little later we will go out to dinner with my MIL.

Jesse what did you end up getting? If you already said, I missed or forgot.
My mother brought carpet samples to the house last weekend. She's been planning to re-carpet her condo.
She bought a new vacuum this week (a Shark) and now she's thinking she might not bother, the carpet looks that much better.
I talked to my mom today, and she told me that my dad was a little upset because he tried to talk to me while I was working remotely at their house, and I didn't respond. I'm 99.9% sure that was when I was in a video conference call, and when I had to yank my headphones off so I could hear him, he waved me off. I probably was abrupt, because conference call.
I'm trying to keep in mind that the way that I work is so different from my dad's experience. It was easier to navigate this before my parents retired.
