Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Y'all, I thought my old vacuum worked OK -- not great, but OK. But I just used the new one and pulled one full cat's worth of hair out of my rugs. YIKES.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Maybe your new vacuum is super awesome

Herding cats for fun

You know you are an adult when a good vacuum makes you happy.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Just got back from seeing Avengers:Endgame. A little later we will go out to dinner with my MIL.

What is even happening?

Jesse what did you end up getting? If you already said, I missed or forgot.

My mother brought carpet samples to the house last weekend. She's been planning to re-carpet her condo.

She bought a new vacuum this week (a Shark) and now she's thinking she might not bother, the carpet looks that much better.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I talked to my mom today, and she told me that my dad was a little upset because he tried to talk to me while I was working remotely at their house, and I didn't respond. I'm 99.9% sure that was when I was in a video conference call, and when I had to yank my headphones off so I could hear him, he waved me off. I probably was abrupt, because conference call.

I'm trying to keep in mind that the way that I work is so different from my dad's experience. It was easier to navigate this before my parents retired.

Ugh, that sounds annoying, shrift.

My sister texted and woke me up this morning, suggesting FaceTime because mom was at her house for brunch. I suggested phone instead, and I think I was very out of it, when we spoke. Ah well. I fell back asleep and managed to sleep in (though I also remember waking up hearing a garbage truck and being very annoyed someone was emptying dumpsters at 5:45AM on a Sunday for fuck's sake).

I also just watched "Wine Country", the new Netflix Amy Poehler/Tina Fey/all those ladies movie. On the one hand, oh lord, that was a little too real. On the other hand, it was...not actually. great movie. A little torn on that.
