Best purr vibes for Fran.
Work has been... a lot of work. Massive sudden snowmelt equals water in the basement. So there has been much shop vaccing, and at 5pm Wednesday I got word that we had to pack up everything down there because movers were coming at 8am Thursday to haul it all to a storage unit so that this morning the flooring people could rip out all the carpeting. Then this afternoon the landlord brought over some industrial strength fans and dehumidifiers to dry the place out over the weekend before new flooring will be installed on Monday. Landlord got hold of some hospital-grade disinfectant/antifungal and sprayed it all over the basement. Stuff smells like a mix of Lysol and Raid.
Tried calling the hospital, and Rosemary is able to answer the phone! Sounded weak and tired, and she says she probably isn't up to visitors until Monday (me, I'd be having them now no matter how I felt, because essentially I want to see people). They've had her sitting up and walking short distances and evidently the surgeons are very very happy (probably showing selfies of themselves and the repaired heart valve, I suppose.)
Timelies all!
We were originally going to daytrip a local con, but when we checked the website yesterday to see the schedule, we found out it had been cancelled.
Instead, we took Mr. S to the zoo. Got to see pandas, cheetahs and a few other animals.
(The car window went up all the way when we tried it this morning.)
someone just hit on me in Target. It is unsettling to me for a stranger to come up and start talking to me when I've come to accept that I am generally invisible in public. I mean sure my hair isn't, but a passing hair comment is not walking directly up to me TWICE and starting a convo and offering his number. AND I WAS NOT RUDE. Although I did ask him if he often just talked to strangers in stores because it was weird.
talking to strangers in Target aside from a shared experience of inconvenience, fear, or someone needing assistance is not reasonable.
I was not afraid of him, he did not seem off. I talked with him, shook his hand, told him my first name.
I've talked with people in stores pretty frequently. I'm apparently approachable, probably because I smile at strangers. DH is worse because he is such an extrovert he just talks to everyone everywhere! Not in a flirtatious way, but is just super friendly.
So, I am getting another dobie from a Florida rescue. It will be my third doberman so I told DH I want to name her Trinity. First because she is the third, but also because she will surely be a kickass bitch! She is only 2 so it will be good for upping our walking levels, which we both need.
