I doubt he will change his mind, but at least I said something. I will unfriend him after that.

Wise advice given to me in my youth was that we have an obligation to ourselves to express our thoughts and opinions, with the understanding that other adults get to make their own decisions and have their own opinions. No Matter How Wrong They Are! It's frustrating, but a whole lot more stressful to just bite the tongue and not make an effort to inform.
It is no fun at all when you are called out on your own prejudices or inappropriate behavior, and it takes a lot to recognize and learn from this. Much of my life I was super defensive and I recognize and fight that when I see it happening.
Exactly. I wouldn't have bothered if I didn't care about his wife, but I've said what I need to say now, I think, so all I can do is ignore him when I see him in person.
And there's the neighbor's stereo system again.
Trying to figure out what's a reasonable expectation. I don't really want to hear it all day, but can we only complain when it's early morning or late night?
Ha, he'll probably be avoiding you too so it will work out!
Dana, they at least have to know that you can hear it. I hear my neighbor's sound system, but it isn't really loud and it has never been very early or late. Do you run into them outside ever where you can mention that you do hear it? "Hey, I hear you have a new sound setup!"
Sorry, Dana. That's really frustrating.
He very magnanimously responded that he heard what I was saying but clearly thinks that I hold him an apology because I was rude and dismissive. I have unfriended him because I really just don't see what else I can do.
Timelies all!
Pix, you did your best. He just doesn't want to listen.
Good riddance, Pix.
We returned from lunch, and the music has stopped. We're holding on to the hope that he just had it that loud while he was doing stuff around the house -- when we left, he was actually outside in his garage.
