Ben: I didn't ask for any of this. I just want to be normal. Gronx: I wanted to be an underwear model. We play the hand we're dealt.

Punishingly Intricate

Yeah I think I use "this coming Saturday" for the one that's about to happen and "next Saturday" for the one that will happen after that. And clarify with the actual dates.

Our wings are not tired.

Zoe is not doing good. Waiting for lab results from the vet visit Wednesday. I managed to get her to eat her meds yesterday over the course of the day with my homemade chicken mix, and wrapping pills in cheese. No luck at all this morning. I couldn't even get her to take her nausea pill wrapped in swiss cheese and peanut butter! Sucks.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm sorry, Laura.

Listening to the radio, checking FB, anything that gets me news before I get out of bed is a Bad Idea. I need to remember that.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

It's a bad news day for sure. I saw an alert late last night about a shooting in NZ and quickly decided I didn't need to read that before bed. Saw another alert this morning and was genuinely shocked to see that the number was 49 killed. Just horrific.

Our wings are not tired.

One of the reasons I have been extracting myself from news sources by 9PM. I generally don't see how much the world sucks until I get on my computer in the morning after the animals are fed.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Yep, I am checking out of the world today. Work and fictional TV. And food.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I am sickened by the news from NZ this morning. I would much rather talk about sheets.

Also, I am a firm believer in having a spare set of sheets and swapping them out so it is at least theoretically possible to change the bed without doing laundry, but I can see the appeal of just having the one and not having anything to store.

This is my method, but I am married to a man who doesn't really believe in the extra sheets, so instead of stripping the bed and making it again right away, he does all the laundry and remakes the bed with the same sheets. Which is so much more work! (OTOH, he does the laundry and then makes the bed, so it's not like I'm COMPLAINING. But it's so weird.)

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Laura, best vibes for Zoe.
