One of the reasons I have been extracting myself from news sources by 9PM. I generally don't see how much the world sucks until I get on my computer in the morning after the animals are fed.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Yep, I am checking out of the world today. Work and fictional TV. And food.
Saw another alert this morning and was genuinely shocked to see that the number was 49 killed. Just horrific.
This.
I am sickened by the news from NZ this morning. I would much rather talk about sheets.
Also, I am a firm believer in having a spare set of sheets and swapping them out so it is at least theoretically possible to change the bed without doing laundry, but I can see the appeal of just having the one and not having anything to store.
This is my method, but I am married to a man who doesn't really believe in the extra sheets, so instead of stripping the bed and making it again right away, he does all the laundry and remakes the bed with the same sheets. Which is so much more work! (OTOH, he does the laundry and then makes the bed, so it's not like I'm COMPLAINING. But it's so weird.)
Laura, best vibes for Zoe.
Maybe it is naive of me, but I am shocked that this happened in New Zealand.
Yeah, would rather talk about sheets, for sure. I guess if you only have one set of sheets you never ever have to fold a fitted sheet.
Health~ma to Zoe.
I read about the New Zealand shooting. One of the people at the mosque was interviewed, and he said that if New Zealand isn't safe, then he doesn't know where they can go. It's heartbreaking.
I have two sets of sheets in regular rotation (cotton), one heavy cotton flannel set that's a bit much for NC's idea of winter, and some t-shirt material sets that I need to Kondo because I haven't used them in years. The regular ones are getting pretty old. I think one set belonged to my parents, and neither of them has been alive for the past 10 years. Probably time for some new sheets.
In other first world problems, I ate breakfast too early today and now I'm hungry even though it's only 11am.
Tim and I don't really argue much, because we are both SUPER conflict-avoidant and think any disagreement means the other one is going to file for divorce (that's not really an exaggeration; we both have Issues). But he's also, in general, the world's most agreeable human being, so we rarely have points of conflict.
However, an ongoing argument around Stately Beckmeyer Manor is "No, YOU Are Making the Bed Wrong!" After 13 years, it's kind of comical.
