The 1980s *were* in some ways a long time ago.
Yes. And while the erosion of the public safety net and a lot of economic factors are not good, I'm glad that some social issues have improved.
I sometimes wonder what things would be like if we hadn't lost so many people to deliberately unaddressed disease. If we'd refrained from roiling up regional tensions during the first Gulf War. If our intelligence apparatus hadn't decided it was cool to do an end run around the Constitution to fund regime change via drug running. There's so much crap that started in the '80s that's still reverberating today.
Perhaps the hair was an early warning sign. Socio-political malaise expressed follicularly.
At least there was Prince.
Coworker, who was running this morning's 7AM meeting, showed up 10 minutes late with no explanation. Husband's VPN is mysteriously not working. The temperature dropped 30 degrees overnight, which may explain the blinding headache I had last night. WTF, Thursday.
Dearest colleagues, I love most of you and you are in many ways my (professional) people, but upon the 15th email I am sending to reschedule this meeting, a humble request: please update your availability in outlook calendars. Please.
Suddenly, I am not sleeping through the night and it is killing me. Does anyone have any solutions?
I'm sorry, Jesse. The only thing that cured my insomnia was getting up early and not stopping until a set time. My son has some success with melatonin.
I am heading over to see the siblings this afternoon. Staying until Saturday morning. I have to keep reminding myself that the reason my brother is so miserable and hateful is that he is sick and in pain. I think the only safe subject may be spring training for baseball.
I have people hounding me about things I need to deliver on, but I've been sick and focusing on putting out fires. I have a million things to do and very little motivation to work on them, so I need to think of ways to bribe myself into getting things done.
Also, my dad is having a stress test this morning because he probably needs surgery to put in more stents. I'm trying not to be mad at him for eating all the ice cream and NOT ANY GODDAMN VEGETABLES YOU HAVE DIABETES.
I found this article, and (a) how dare you, and (b) OK. [link]
I'm at the doctors office because
I was coughing so hard this morning I was puking.
ltc very helpfully looked st me and said "can I have another show?
current dog situation at my house
my dog, Bailey - approx 40 lbs
foster dog, Buddy - approx 20 lbs
dog sit dog, Maya - approx 90 lbs
1) I took them all walking at the same time yesterday - we looked crazy.
2) Maya take meds. Today she took the pill wrapped in the soft chew medicine in her mouth and then dropped it. Buddy ran up and ate it. So meds for biggest dg, eaten by smallest dog.
I've spent the morning on text and phone and google and got all the med names and dosages and was instructed by my vet to just watch Buddy, but he should be fine. I am home now and he is bouncing off the walls a bit. Medicine is for hypothyroidism so yeah his heart rate is up and his little body is all metabolise! metablise! I fed him bread and peanut butter as my vet instructed and may feed him more. poor noodle.
