I don't know if Kavanaugh's raging is going to play to the Republican base (they seem to like Trump in pure asshole mode), but I think he's coming off very poorly. My college had one of the oldest DKE fraternity charters in the country and he is the ultimate DKE: complete entitled sexist racist gross capitalist asshole.
Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. And then I get paid.
