Xander: We just saw the zebras mating! Thank you, very exciting... Willow: It was like the Heimlich, with stripes!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I stayed up past my bedtime to watch Rent last night (as a theater-loving friend said on Facebook, that was our Super Bowl!), and now I'm tired. At least I didn't have to go to the 9am meeting (sorry, Dana).

Ann, that's a ferret.

Gud, I'm no doctor, but it sounds like you might also have depression. Have you talked to a doctor about that possibility7 They may be able to offer options, including medication. (One word of caution if you do go that route -- there are a lot of medications out there, and it may take a few false starts before you find one that works. I firmly believe that prescribing medication in that area is more of an art than a science.)

I'll second Theo's suggestion that you talk to your wife, but I'll add another reason. It's possible that she may not realize the effect that her words and actions have on you. If that's the situation, then just bringing it to her attention may help.

People at work are annoying, and not just because I didn't sleep enough! This stuff was annoying last week, too! Boooo.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

How to feel old at work:

Step 1: Listen to your co-workers say "Maybe the reason I never got into Buffy is because I didn't watch it as a kid."

Step 2: Realize they don't mean "because I was a busy high school/college student and just never got into it" but "because I wasn't old enough to watch that kind of TV when it was first on the air"

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, as usual, dear, Jessica.

Work is wanting me to do too much work today. I would prefer not to.

Argh, I am also annoyed at work. When you ask for info and are told historically that part has taken 77 days, on average, why would you then send the client something that indicates it will be done in negative 5 days? And when I point that out, why update it to zero days? And when I point it out again, why do you add a column saying zero days is the goal but maybe the last date will be 77 days? No!! Zero days is never the goal!!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I have spoken to four people about prescriptions and insurance this morning. I feel like that's enough accomplishments for the day.

Ugh. That sounds like a recipe for an unhappy client, but what do I know? "Maybe you already have this! Or maybe it will be three months -- who's to say?"

Agreed!!!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

In The Kids Are Alright news, a coworker who is one year out of undergrad just told me about her good weekend knitting while watching Law & Order: SVU.
