See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

And my brother is all loaded up on antibiotics and hiding out at our mom's house in Reno; the myeloma treatments are going as well as could be hoped, with excellent blood work and his hair starting to grow back. Just doing a number on his immune system generally. Thanks for the well wishes.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Glad to hear that, JZ.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

As a person who has been verbally flayed by surgeons, I do recommend it. I work on contracts that allow our students to practice surgical first assisting. The surgeons are sponsoring. It takes six months until the surgeon yells at me, and then I tell the lawyers there is a surgeon involved, and everyone moves their butts

Got home last night at almost 11, after torrential thunderstorms saw me off from Birmingham & soaked my checked luggage. A few books got damp :( Wouldn't be xmas in B'ham without thunderstorms, tornados or other wild weather.

Why I woke up at 6:15, uhg.

Our wings are not tired.

It's raining here, which is a good thing, except the dog refuses to go out in the rain. Since she is on the water pills now she is drinking a ton and going out an equivalent number of times. Except when it is raining she will only go out if I leash her and go with her. Sigh.

Sorry about the soaked luggage, sarameg.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I got back home last night around 11, too. My niece waited until after I'd left to have her baby, alas. But she and my first great-niece are apparently doing fine. I'm waiting, ever so impatiently, for photos.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Pouring here too - we're expecting half an inch of rain by the end of the day. So I'm working from home and making my New Years Weekend menu plans. And the kids are coming home today! I should probably put sheets back on their beds, huh.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

My house guest left! She was only supposed to stay a night, but it had (for good reasons) to be extended an extra day. I don't usually have guests, so it was kind of tiring. She was a roommate back in college and we're still friends, so it's kind of cool.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Gorgeous day in San Francisco but I am housebound with Matilda who got my sick.

She's snoring on the couch now after ibuprofen and claritin.

Thrive to spite them

It has been pouring rain all night and all day. Lots of flooding and road closures. It's freaking people out. We've ahd so lunch rain this year and then the snow (which is still on the ground in some places) and now this. I have to take the long way home but if one section of road floods I have no idea how I'm going to make it.
