Mal: Well, you were right about this being a bad idea. Zoe: Thanks for sayin', sir.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Good job coming to your senses, Tim.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I read something last night (that I now can't find) about not getting tested too soon.

The recommendation is to get tested 5-9 days after exposure.

I'm not watching the City or State updates as often now, but I did catch Dr. Arwady yesterday. They are estimating that as many as 1 in 15 Chicagoans could have active Covid. (This is presuming a rate of 10% non-symptomatic and not tested. The other end of the range is 1 in 21). Most of the people I've seen are wearing masks and mostly distancing but there are a lot of people out and about. I go out for groceries every other week and otherwise I'm staying in.

Call back on the mammogram came back ok.

Great news, Cash.

And, yay, Tim for coming around.

We decided to go to curbside pick-up for groceries for the next while. Other than that, we are continuing to isolate as usual. And we have an STPR of about 100. Had been replenishing the normal way -- couple rolls left, buy a big pack -- until this week when I laid in the reserves. I feel not great about it, because it's just contributing to the problem, but I also don't want to run out of TP, and I go through it faster than the average Josephine now.

I tussled with Verizon today (well, yesterday) and was, ultimately, victorious, so I'm proud of that. They do not make it easy, which is, of course, on purpose.

I fell asleep way too early tonight, which is why I'm up at 3:30a having a cup of cocoa and a toasted bagel. Hoping to fall asleep again soonish.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

When I left my place to work this morning I found an anti-vax/anti-science flyer on my building's bulletin board. It followed by the realization that while political misinformation worries me, eugenic pseudo science claims make me see red. It took me over an hour to calm down, but I'm still angry.

(Edited to add that I took down the flyer, of course.)

Our wings are not tired.

I LOVE the new director of the old job and I am seriously re-energized.

What a difference good coworkers makes. This is great to hear.

We call it the STPR

I clearly need to up my game here. I might have 18. May have to harvest banana leaves or something.

Yay for good booby report!

Wow, they pay well! My gig was $180.

Mine was 190 plus 100 bonus and DH was 250 plus 100 bonus because he was in a tech role. The election board said they authorized the bonus as an incentive to keep Palm Beach County out of the news this year. We will never forgive ourselves for 2000.

VINDICATION

YES!

eugenic pseudo science claims make me see red

Right there with you. We have had a recent news report showing a poor nurse talking about patients fighting her that Covid is a hoax and it just is horrifying. I'm vaccine avoidant because I hate needles, but my arm is ready the moment real scientists tell me a vaccine is ready and safe.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Sigh. Shir, I feel you. Except that political misinformation also makes me see red; it's just that antivaccine nonsense and Covid hoaxing make me see even redder.

Hooray for normal boobs!

We have 10 rolls in reserve right now, which seemed like a lot until I read this thread and now I'm nervous.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

So I accidentally ordered two cases of toilet paper a couple of months before all this started, and we were just about to send some to a food pantry before the lock down started. We just started getting low on them recently.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Call back on the mammogram came back ok.

Yay healthy boobies!

What a difference good coworkers makes. This is great to hear.

I had two more meetings with her, and we have already made more progress than I have in months. I like my actual boss for instructional design and she is so nice, but she did not also have time to be the director of continuing education, especial given COVID and the fact she is working on her doctoral thesis. She is also not quick and likes to included everyone and their brother in shared decision making, but my two coworkers actually work best with clear directives and will just perseverate on things forever, out loud, in a meeting. So that forced me into being a clear directive giving person, and I hate that role. Now I guess I have to deal with the fact I am not necessarily a good fit with my actual boss, but I think her style is more appropriate to the higher level instructional design team she is leading, where we all do contribute our thoughts and want to make shared decisions.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

My current tally is 22 Charmin mega-rolls, which supposedly equals 88 regular rolls of TP. I don't foresee running through that until next year.

Thrive to spite them

I just ordered my toilet paper. Not that there is a shortage but I was limited to one package.
