I have all of you in my thoughts, even if I am all lurk and no post these days. If it doesn't have a cute dog picture attached, I can hardly stand to look at the Internets these days.

I ran across a comment (on one of the few sites where I actually read comments) that pretty much sums up how I feel: waves hands in random directions because he can’t even.

ND, I definitely have concerns, too. Trump and the GOP have been doing their best to strip mine the US for their donors, and that’s going to make it very hard to come back from both the COVID crisis and the effect of the massive shift of resources to the 1%. With a Republican senate Biden’s team will be really hampered in their response. If we can flip the GA seats, that might help. If they could get the Green New Deal in place, that would help on many fronts, but that’ll never make past McConnell if he’s still speaker.

The failure to flip the Senate was so depressing, especially since I went into the election feeling super-optimistic that we'd win control, and maybe even have enough seats that Elizabeth Warren could take a Cabinet post without it messing with the majority to have a GOP governor nominate her replacement. And OMG Tommy Tuberville is making it embarrassing to be from Alabama and even to be an Auburn fan, though I think the way he left was messy enough that the last part shouldn't count.

My current position is that just defeating Trump makes us better off, and we'll just have to keep fighting for everything else. I'm planning to write Vote Forward letters for the GA Senate races and also to donate what I can afford. But, yeah, it's still pretty damn bleak.

A family across the street, on a porch that is right across my apartment and bedroom window, is sitting shiva. That is sad, but it also looks like they invited lots of people over, and the main mean of communication they have is shouting on one another. Looks like I'll be knowing them intimately by the end of next week.

Hi all. brenda caught up with me on twitter. Seems like 2020 is not letting up on the crap. I read back a bit and saw others having their own struggles, too. I'm terrible at mearing and don't want to leave anyone out, so I'm sending out hugs, hairpats, and forehead kisses to those who feel in desperate need of them. Or who just enjoy getting them.
