I hope that a lot of people were doing Halloween stuff or out doing last minute political stuff because they weren't ordering items from our store. Which was troubling but also a nice reprieve because we were able to get things cleaned up and super organized.
I'm off today. Rare Sunday off. And M's nephew's birthday party is today. I'm not going. No one really expects me to go. M's and his Mom are going but she said she's telling them that this will be the last gathering she goes to. She's seen the news about how there is an increase in cases everywhere-including here and that it's coming from small gatherings at home and is taking it seriously. But then she was like "you aren't that safe at work" . I try to be. I try to use hand sanitizer frequently and stay way from people but I haven't been showering and changing as soon as I get home and I may start doing that again.

Do it if it feels better, but that's not how it's being transmitted. Fomite transmission is negligible. In fact in European contact tracing there is not even a single instance of transmission of Covid from an object.

People in our neighborhood FB group are saying that kids liked the candy chutes so much they plan to use them again next year. I think Tim has already stashed our trashpipe in the attic for next year.
As usual, we have a lot of candy left over, but we bought candy we don't like, so he'll take it to work tomorrow.

We had a grand total of 8 trick-or-treaters last night. Our neighborhood isn't typically one of the big ones for Halloween, but this was an unsurprising record low. My kids got candy from the police candy parade (basically they drove around tossing candy out the windows) and then hit the good trick-or-treat neighborhood and made out like bandits because everyone was handing out handfuls to make up for the low turnout.
