Bidding war for Gud's services! That sounds like it should be an ego boost.

Probably should be, but mostly I'll just be glad when everything is resolved.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Feel better, Hil.

I was able to get some sausage and egg burritos from the grocery this week. So, that is my lunch today.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Sorry I skimmed past your post, Hil! I'm sorry about the bronchitis, what an icky way to start the school year. I hope you feel better soon.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Good luck, Gud. I don't wish to add any stressors, but i recall Ask a Manager talking about taking counteroffers from your current company, and warned against pitfalls. I found this: [link] It doesn't quite fit your situation - it's directed at people seeking job offers specifically to try to force their employer to make a counteroffer - but some of it may be relevant.

I think she's mentioned before that of people who accept a counteroffer, something like 70% have left or been let go within the year. That does mean 30% haven't, and you know your situation and employer best. But you might find her thoughts helpful.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Had to skim, but I'm happy your services are in such demand, Gud! And I'm sorry about your bronchitis, Hil.

We have all of the (usually only on at night) lights on, and I think it's gotten darker in the past hour. No smoke smell though, at least in my part of SF. So weird. The sky is such a dark orange, it feels like we're in a cave.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Man, I want to go home but I don't wanna go home to THAT. Sigh.

it's cold here: snow is still falling and it's supposed to get colder...

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

All the pictures are so scary looking!

Gud, is there a reason you want to leave your current job, or is the new one just a better offer? That's what I'd consider when looking at the counter.

I am worried about all the CAistas and their lungs.

Yeah, it would be nice if the West coast would stop being on fire.
