I'm thinking about buying something very expensive. Maybe an antelope.

Cass, that sounds annoying as all hell.

Maria, I'm so so sorry! But don't fight the medicine, if it's what you need it will help you! Doesn't mean you have to stay on it forever.

I, meanwhile, am the asshole who backed up into a guy's parked motorcycle and tipped it over. A couple days after losing my license and having to order a new one, so couldn't show him that. Got so flustered between that, and having the puppy in the car on a hot day that I gave him all my info (insurance, contact info) and then left. Like an idiot. Didn't take pics, didn't get HIS info, nothing. BRAIN. Today was a really long stressful day at work, and now I just don't want to do anything (and the puppy was being an asshole last night and did not let me get almost ANY sleep, he KEPT waking up). So I shall also join the ranks of stressed and depressed, here. UGH. And I feel bad because I know the poor guy whose motorcycle I hit is having a much worse day.

ETA: Should I call my insurance and say "hey I hit a guy's motorcycle but I don't know who he is and I didn't take any photos and I don't know whether he'll contact you"?? (He said he'd get it checked out and call me)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's so hard, Cass.

That is all differently hard, Maria!

My bff insists that I don't eat real meals I eat snacks.

meara, I know you've moved on to car accidents, but this is 100% Mrs. Flax in Mermaids, and a valid life choice, IMO.

A think I have done over the past six months is find a menu plan and just fucking do it, because then I don't have to figure it out. I have found them in various places, but I like these the best: [link] (I browse until I see one I'm willing to do all of.)

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

meara, I'm sorry about the motorcycle bump, and I hope he does the thing and is all above board about the insurance and stuff.

Oh Cass, I'm so sorry. That's way too much on you right now--too much anytime, but now is particularly hard. Take a couple breaths--take a nice bath--and maybe a good partial solution will come to you.

Maria, it can be an awful shock, having to completely rearrange your life around your food intake. I mean, what do you mean, *schedule* meals? What are meals? I eat when I realize I'm hungry and I'm in proximity to food. That was the "meals" I was used to, and skipping several in a row wasn't unusual. I resented the doctor, I resented the finger stick, I resented the stupid food monitoring, I'd just not eat anything ever ever again. I resented my traitor body. It got exhausting, so I tried it their way. No fun, but it did get easier, and then it got to be routine.

I'ma have to make an appt though, my glucose readings are creeping up pretty alarmingly, and Something Will Have to Be Done, whether that's a stricter diet, an increase in meds, or both. Bodies, man. Flawed design. I hope your path is pretty straightforward and without difficulty.

In general these days, I am consternated, thank you for the word, Kalshane. I probably shall remain consternated for the forseeable future. In fact it's going to take some pretty impressive, dramatic de-consternating event for me to not be consternated any more. TBH, I ain't holding my breath.

Jesse are you able to cut it down from "family of four"? I feel like even if I cut it all in half I'd still have too much food?

Yeah, it's just dinners, so I cut everything in half and have one serving for lunch. More or less. I mean, there was a week with a burger, I just made the one burger.

Thrive to spite them

Maria, I'm glad that what is going on is controllable even though it means a lot of hard changes. I have no advice, except be kind to yourself.

Thrive to spite them

So work has been.. really slow. Like the number of in store customers hasn't been too bad but our online orders to fulfill has just dried up. It's honestly kind of scary. The 2nd week of August (before my vacation) they were pulling extra people to help and today and yesterday they had to find work for the people who have been doing fulfillment normally because there just weren't enough orders.
