Thrive to spite them

Maria, I'm glad that what is going on is controllable even though it means a lot of hard changes. I have no advice, except be kind to yourself.

Thrive to spite them

So work has been.. really slow. Like the number of in store customers hasn't been too bad but our online orders to fulfill has just dried up. It's honestly kind of scary. The 2nd week of August (before my vacation) they were pulling extra people to help and today and yesterday they had to find work for the people who have been doing fulfillment normally because there just weren't enough orders.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ed is AHEAD! stupid Kennedy.

My city went 80% for Markey.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

100% Mrs. Flax in Mermaids, and a valid life choice, IMO.

It all worked out (at least until I get my next insurance bill!), the guy texted me and we got everything sorted, I think. Found out we have friends in common and I Venmo'd him $10 to get a beer or a new ice cream (he'd just gotten one and was walking back to the bike when I hit it)

Herding cats for fun

So now my sister is really REALLY mad at me again.

When she was diagnosed with breast cancer, the first thing she said was that she didn't want me to come into the house because of the shameful state of her hoard and I would Surely say mean things and be all judgmental like I am. So we celebrated her birthday sitting in the driveway with takeout sushi. Surrounded by heaps of stuff she's dragged home from her dumpster diving. Park management has had enough of seeing hoarding in the yard so there's been (finally) a bulk pickup and tomorrow a crew with a truck will hopefully haul away the rest.

Yesterday she called wanting 2 loaves of Safeway French bread to go with the home made chicken broth I provide every 3 weeks when she has chemo. Okay, I can do that. I'm not a monster. She also wanted me to help her change the sheets on her bed, which I was dreading not because of laziness but rather having to see the filth and clutter and what the cats leave on the bed.

So I handed over the French bread and told Sue, the long-suffering roommate that I'd rather go to the morgue than my sister's room and she agreed I might not stay calm and also she is so ashamed about the state of the house that she would change the sheets herself. Great, I thought. Problem solved! Dodged that bullet!

But alas. I am a terrible person because I didn't do the thing the way she wanted and she has been ranting about it whenever she's awake. D'oh! This shit is normal for my little drama queen.

not your mom's socks.

Cass I'm so sorry

Our wings are not tired.

I'm lactose-sensitive and I hate skim milk so I'd rather eat the cereal dry.

The various alternatives, almond, cashew, coconut, or rice milk work great in cereal. I'm partial to the cashew or coconut. My numbers for both sugar and cholesterol dramatically improve with adding lots of fiber to my diet. I even add grape nuts to my oatmeal. Adding stuff as well as removing stuff works twice as well. My family tree is filled with diabetes so I've always been careful there. {{hugs}}

My bff insists that I don't eat real meals I eat snacks.

Also often a valid way to eat for diabetes.

Cass, I am sorry this is such a painful process. I wish I had better words of comfort. You know from experience your mother's words of comfort. Visit with her memory and listen to her advice. Take care of your self.

{{meara}} {{Katie Bee}} Universe, we have enough on our plates already!

Our wings are not tired.

The Markey Kennedy race was odd to watch from afar, possibly stranger for the constituents. Haven't followed closely, but it seemed inappropriate timing for Kennedy to challenge that way.

In other political not-news, the world has gone mad. Every single day there is a year's worth of scandal. It is exhausting.
