I'll be fine. I'll be your bounty, Jubal Early. And I'll just fade away.

Our wings are not tired.

Matilda and Peanut are splatter painting outside

This is such a joyful vision.

In terms of money spent Halloween is second only to Christmas and it's been gaining on Christmas every year for more than a decade now. With everything that is happening, that won't be the case this year. The economy will feel that.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Hi. I've been lurking because all of my "talk to people" energy is being sapped up by my job. Phone/video meetings are so fucking draining.

Anyway, I miss talking to you all.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That makes sense, Noise. That'll be bad all right.

Miss you too, Jess!

Just the event I normally work on has around 28 operational nights with a capacity of around 22,000 people each night. Gate ticket prices average out to about $50. That's $1,1000,000 per night just on admission, before a single T-Shirt, soft drink, hot dog, etc is sold. That's ONE Halloween event.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Around here it was announced that the Topsfield Fair (monthlong event in October) will be cancelled this year. It's been running since 1818.. and only missed in 1918, and 1943-45. And of course, that's a huge loss for all the exhibitors.

It happened that I drove past the Museum of Science today -- one lone DUKBoat, waiting for socially-distanced tourists, not that any can come into MA from all but a handful of states.

We're really just, like, maybe a quarter-way into this crisis? With still a long long way to go.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I saw that an annual rodeo in Minnesota was held as usual - no masks required, a lot more people than the 250 the state said such gatherings should be limited to ... oh, as usual, dear.

In happier news, Spiderman is alive, well and perching on lampposts in Albany.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

a lack of clothes buying. This does hurt womens clothes more probably

I know my fun clothes shopping has pretty much halted, even from eBay/Etsy/Poshmark. Hell, even my clothing alteration projects have slowed, because I'm not going anywhere fun.

Yeah, I think at the beginning I spent a lot less except on groceries. Now I'm buying more random shit online because I'm bored. Also bought a bunch of clothes from old navy because most of my pants don't fit because of all the sugar I've been eating.
