Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Toddson, I'm so sorry about the moving stuff--I've never had a move that didn't suck. Twice we've moved and just walked out and left stuff we didn't have room or space for in our next place.

Some of you may know about my secret vice of collecting bits of china. Teacups and saucers, sugarbowls and creamers, teapots, bread and butter or dessert plates. Mixing and matching is always fun for me. So Theo, if you ever do drink tea, or have coffee from a cup and saucer, you could keep a "trio," cup, saucer, small plate. I found bits of a Doulton pattern I love--it's not fine china but it's pretty. I thrifted two each breakfast plates, cups, saucers, the smaller sugar and creamer. Sometimes I can coax DH into having breakfast with me on that china. As for our formal china? We've used it twice. I hate that so much, because StE loved it, and I wish now I'd used it more when he was present, even for less-than-formal occasions.

I know I'm being all doomy--but I really do expect some sort of sucker-punch. That's just who he is.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'll talk to my cousin and maybe she has some ideas about which pieces it would be sentimental to keep. (I don't drink tea -- but some of the serving platters could conceivably get used if I ever do get around to giving a dinner party.)

Trump really is that petty and vindictive, but he's also lazy and in-the-moment, which at least doesn't let him plan out double-crosses.

I like the idea of the tea set or the cream and sugar set. I'll keep that in mind for whenever I decide to let go of grandmother's china. Thanks all.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, don't underestimate his fundamental incompetence. I mean, look at the DACA ruling -- it wasn't that he didn't have the right to do it, it's that the administration didn't do it right.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

We are home. I am exhausted. Miley is confused and exhausted. Bailey is confused and needy. We are all going to try to get some sleep.

Glad you made it home, msbelle. Good sleep for all!

A bunch of candles, votives or tealights in glass (whiskey glasses, juice glasses, wine glasses), or tapers in candlesticks, or just pillars, arranged on a serving platter can be beautiful. Or floating candles in your soup tureen, or large veg bowl. Oy. Ask me how I know.

Punishingly Intricate

Glad you're home, msbelle!

Congratulations, Laura!!!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I did the thing! I feel much better. Thanks for the encouragement.

msbelle, glad you're all home safe.

It'll take a crowbar to pry the bloated orange tick out of the the White House. Things are going to be real bad, and it scares me to know I can't even imagine what he'll do.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Aw, LMM said on Twitter that they only got one "fuck" to use in Hamilton, so "When you knock me down I get the FUCK BACK UP AGAIN!" is going to be bleeped. That's one of my favorite parts.

I LOVE to yell that line. Sometimes I would play Hamilton when I was in the shower in the morning before work, and it always made me ready to smash my day. (of course, now some days I don't actually shower, or when I do, it's at some random point in the day)

but some of the serving platters could conceivably get used if I ever do get around to giving a dinner party.

You could also just display it on your table, or use it to hold mail.
