I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Oh, right. I literally just read the damn thread and can't remember what LMM said. "Southern Motherfucking Democratic Republicans" is in second place for me, after Hercules Mulligan.

Here's the thread:

I literally gave two fucks so the kids could see it:
1. In Yorktown, there's a mute over "I get the f___ back up again"
2. "Southern *record scratch*kin' Democratic Republicans."
You can sing whatEVER you like at home (even sync up the album)!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I have not seen Hamilton nor listened to the music except brief excerpts here and there, but I'm pretty excited about it being on Disney+

I missed another "town hall" this morning and this one was a topic I was kind of interested in. Rats.

Hey. New board.

Hamilton movie is exciting! Was sad to realize that the In the Heights movie is actually scheduled for 2021 though - for some reason I thought it was 2020. Hamilton is a better work of art, but in many ways I like In the Heights even more, and the movie teaser looks great.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

It's coming out on my birthday! The Hercules Mulligan swear is my favorite.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

My mother kept a teacup and saucer of her aunt's china. She uses it and enjoys it.

Thrive to spite them

The whole I won't wear a mask thing is just.. asinine. And I'm tired of dealing with it.

I'm excited about Hamliton in some ways and in others all I can do is look at all those names and think "slave holder, slave holder, supporter of slavery, liar about how all people being treated equal"

Also this morning I was talking to Matthew this morning and discovered he is really depressed (which I had kind of realized) but not how bad and how long - 9 years he tells me. The VA prescribed anti depressants but they haven't arrived and he hasn't called the VA about it. I know our relationship and our living situation is playing into his depression. I'm not sure what can happen but I know a first step is calling the VA and I can't do that for him

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Sigh...yet another reason to get Disney+. (we're still holding out on new streaming services)

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

It is true. But does the artistic choice of the characters being mostly people of color give it a different lens? It might not, but it was conceived by a person of color and portrayed by people of color so it is almost using the story of the American Revolution and Alexander Hamilton to tell the story of slavery in a way that white folks can digest. Maybe that is a bad things, but Lin also talks the talk and walks the walk of real, collaborative theatre practice, which he has talked about, and brings light to so many voices. This is not "color blind" casting, it is casting with a purpose

Also, I think I need Disney plus for this!

I Saw a black lives matter sign in my neighborhood (which is pretty mixed). I have been walking all over and this is the only one (although it is a lot of rental property, for example, I cannot put up a sign). It was a young white couple out gardening with their kitten so I waved and said hello. Our Neighborhood Facebook group is actually called "Charlotte Area Crime", so there are a lot of ignorant dog-whistling posts, so I am glad to see I have some neighbors putting up a sign.
