I've been using the Walk to Mordor app to track my bicycling. I've been averaging 4.3 miles a day, 5 days a week. So far, I've gotten to Tom Bombadil's house. Hey dol! merry dol! ring a dong dillo!

Anyway, you have to manually enter the distance traveled, but my exercise bike displays that for me, so it works out.

RED ALERT! My coworker just asked me if I read THAT website. I lost it and had to tell him the whole story. He said his wife reads it all the time but she may change her mind when he tells her about it.

That's too funny. I don't think I've ever met anyone in the wild who's familiar with it. I told my kids an abbreviated version at the time (because they were pretty little -- it must have been 12-15 years ago). I doubt I mentioned THAT site's name at the time. I know over the years I'd mention the guy as a cautionary tale about people on the internet.

A few years back, C asked me if I'd ever heard of THAT site. I asked him if he remembered my story about the guy at the Buffistas who did the thing. He did. He'd only been reading entries, so I made him swear he'd stay off the boards (and explained why they were a bad place), and possibly told him to use an ad-blocker. I think it lost its shine for him though.

We just got a message encouraging us to use our vacation time, if not actually reduce our schedule and pay, because they aren't going to do furloughs, which seems crazy. I mean, I get the terrible optics of my employer furloughing people, but we are literally paying people who can't work!

I have been waiting for the 'Rona testing for an hour and a half. Still probably an hour to go. I should have packed a lunch.

Is it not maybe a little early to get tested? I'm wondering how long the incubation period is (if they even know yet).

Oldest is moving out again (he moved home in March when he changed jobs). He understandably would like to see his GF, who is a nurse. The good news is, he found a month-to-month apartment, so if his company lays off people, he's not locked into a lease.

The bad news is he couldn't get his full-sized box spring to this 3rd floor walk-up, so he had to order a split one. He's working from the new place today, while he waits for delivery. We're going to go see it tonight, which will be his first night in it.

I keep reading shortcake as shortbread and being very confused.

I attended a well organized protest Sunday. The organizers went out the night before and drew social distancing marks on the sidewalks, insisted everyone wear masks and lined the streets with signs. No speakers, chanting or yelling.

This round of testing was set up because LAST weekend the announced an outbreak because of the douchebag college graduation party where a group of 30 people hit a bunch of bars with no social distancing or masks.

Then after the protests, ONE person tested positive—who may have been in contact with that party. So the Heath Dept contacted the organizers and issued a blanket statement that people should get tested.

There were over 1000 people protesting. They only had 300 tests. They are delivering 300 more but said that unless you came into direct contact with someone who has tested positive to self quarantine and monitor.

I hate this whole thing. There is no organization, best practices, or leadership coming from ANYWHERE.

I try to recall that English biscuits are cookies, American biscuits are scones, and English muffins are nowhere close to muffiny goodness.

My shortcake was rolled and cut and rose up flakey, so I am calling "scone." If it had no sugar, I'd call "biscuit."

They are all some sort of "short cake" in that they use baking powder, butter, flour and milk.

Now all I want is cake, dammit.
