I try to recall that English biscuits are cookies, American biscuits are scones, and English muffins are nowhere close to muffiny goodness.
My shortcake was rolled and cut and rose up flakey, so I am calling "scone." If it had no sugar, I'd call "biscuit."
They are all some sort of "short cake" in that they use baking powder, butter, flour and milk.
Now all I want is cake, dammit.
Oy, Cash. I'm sorry about the testing. Much negative~ma and cake.

Ah, that's a good one! (Even though I'm trying to boycott BA.)
The last scones I made had eggs in them! (In addition to cheddar and chives.)
I wonder if the Authorities theorized that of 1000 protesters, they'd only get 300 or so to show up, but it turns out that socially-conscious protesters who pay attention to things like masks and social distancing ARE going to show up to be tested.
Ugh, Cashmere. What a mess.
One of my favorite restaurants here on the island announced a couple of hours ago that they won't be reopening. I am really sad about this: I've known Alice and Lena since I moved here four years ago, and every morning for the last week I've been waking up thinking "Today? Can I walk down today, and sit outside and eat some eggs and smile at my friends?"
We've lost two other places on the main street and there will certainly be more, but this one is hard.
Timelies all!
Another early awakening, courtesy of Nova.(who seems to be feeling more like herself again-certainly she's eating like normal.)
