I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Vallejo sent out a notice saying they were *not* imposing a curfew but that they expect people to be responsible and decide to stay home, basically. The rest of Solano County has, as far as I can tell, said nothing. We're mostly pretty rural, unlikely to be a hotspot. Some cars were set in fire over the weekend in Fairfield, but as far as I can tell not as part of a protest or even adjacent to one, just car fires for their own sake. I guess there was a march during the day but sounds like it was entirely peaceful.

Definitely a good plan, ND. Unmarked white cargo van could go a lot of ways!!

Hmm. We had a curfew of 5pm Saturday and Sunday (the one Saturday was announced at a press conference 15 minutes beforehand so basically nobody knew until it was already in effect; the one Sunday was announced sooner but not publicized until a 4:15ish emergency alert?) So far no emergency alerts about curfew today but I haven't thoroughly investigated local news who knows??

I just had to get off Facebook due to rampant awfulness of Western Civilization.

I just got the "Emergency Alert: Extreme" notification that we still have a mandatory curfew here.

I've been donating money to various places today and I'm going to donate to more bail funds. I gave a handful of change to a homeless dude on my way back from the hardware store.

My dad had surgery today. Everything went well and he's already at home, so that is good. It looks like he has Lyme disease and his doctor has been dismissive of his symptoms since last fall, which is not good.

I'm back to being afraid every time I open up the news that something newly horrific just happened. I want to hide under my bed right now

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Yeah, I do not recommend the news right now.

Thrive to spite them

I'm honestly worried we are in the definite slide into authoritarianism. I really think that there enough in GOP leadership that want something like this to happen that they will let it happen.

Excellent news!

Ugh, not good at all. Are they going to give him an IV antibiotic treatment? I've watched a friend deal with chronic Lyme for years now and I'm really in the Nuke It From Space camp now.

They've got him on doxycycline for now, but IV antibiotic treatment is a possibility if that isn't effective.
