Much the same here - things were comparatively peaceful until after dark, then it started getting ugly. Someone set a fire in the basement of my church's parish house, but it was put out fairly quickly without a LOT of damage. And the church was untouched. The rector was camping with his family and pretty much unreachable; his main problem was not being able to figure out how to turn off the alarm.

Our curfew keeps expanding -- Saturday night it was just 4 neighborhoods within city limits, downtown and close to downtown, at 10 p.m. Then last night it expanded to all 52 neighborhoods, at 9 p.m. And I just read that for tonight it's expanded to 8 p.m., even though last night was (I think) fairly peaceful, even after dark.
Oh damn, I just read that our city hall is being evacuated right now because of the protests.
Dallas is under curfew as of last night.
Could I send you four seconds of comic relief?
edited to add the warning that loud music will play automatically
Timelies all!
Another normal(for us) day for us here.(Which of course included Mr. S having a meltdown when we wouldn't let him do what he wanted- which was playing with tennis balls in the house and drinking Gary's flavored water. So hard to be a preschooler...)
All of Los Angeles county was under curfew from 6 PM to 6 AM. Some cities are doing curfews for the business areas starting as early at 1 PM today. I think at the moment that is Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and West Hollywood. We were supposed to work 4 PM to Midnight tonight at a jobsite near downtown, first we changed that to 1 PM to 5 PM, and then today I made the call with my staff that we are not going to that jobsite until things calm down. The national guard is mobilized and patrolling downtown LA and I feel that our unmarked white cargo van could be a target for both sids, looters and the police depending on how you look at it.
Sounds wise, ND.
Welp, my town imposed an 8 pm curfew requiring us to stay inside. I'm going out into the back yard anyway. I'm sure no one will notice me breaking the rules.
The bright spot in this for me is the peaceful protests going on internationally: England, Wales, Germany, Italy, Denmark, New Zealand... and Iran, of all places. They all think Black lives matter.
Vallejo sent out a notice saying they were *not* imposing a curfew but that they expect people to be responsible and decide to stay home, basically. The rest of Solano County has, as far as I can tell, said nothing. We're mostly pretty rural, unlikely to be a hotspot. Some cars were set in fire over the weekend in Fairfield, but as far as I can tell not as part of a protest or even adjacent to one, just car fires for their own sake. I guess there was a march during the day but sounds like it was entirely peaceful.
