At recount center. Tales of shenanigans. When the finally start we are supposed to observe humans copying exactly ballots that didn't read. Can't talk. Can't touch table. Only raise hand if feel it isn't duplicated exactly.

Thank you, Laura.
I'm packed and ready to go. I'm having a quarrel with my bras, but it's a little too late to deal with it properly. Stupid boobs.
I am blaming my lack of motivation on the "very unhealthy " air quality today. There's rain forecast for Wednesday!
"why don't I run to the store to get heavy cream so we can have real whipped cream"
It's Cool Whip, isn't it?
Good luck Laura!!
I would rather have spray can real whipped cream than cool whip?
So I saw a couple ATV scooters on Craigslist and messaged both, and one had sold and one didn't respond. So I went ahead and bought one on amazon full price, got it Wednesday. So of course today I get a message from one of the sellers saying "we still have it do you want it". Oy.
Several hours later just watching machine recount. Bored.
I like Cool Whip. I really like real cream, but Cool Whip has its own flavor that I am fond of.
I'm trying to not say things like "why don't I run to the store to get heavy cream so we can have real whipped cream" or "why don't I run to the farmstand to pick up apples so we can have real applesauce." The food we'll have will be fine and I appreciate the work going into it even if it's not the way my family does things.
You are a strong and kind person, lisah.
You are also a strong and patriotic person, Laura.
I have done some errands and done laundry and gotten a haircut -- feeling good!
Laura, it's like showing up for jury duty -- even your boredom helps the wheels of justice (and fair recount) roll evenly.
The chief guy sent us home until 5:30 because the machine recount has to finish before the hand recount. The core people have been sleeping in cots while staying here 24 hours a day. The machines are old and don't work very well. I have a great deal of experience working with scanners and wanted to help them out, but only actual employees could do the machine stuff.
FWIW, the Dems had tons of people bringing food and drink. Like real food, pizzas, bbq chicken and stuff. The Reps had protesters. Most of the observers were friendly enough between the groups. Heard all kinds of stories about shenanigans, but I expect a certain amount is rumor mongering.
My district's potential winner was there the whole time thanking people for coming for the recount. His manual recount should be the one we do at 5:30. He is officially at 36 votes difference, but he knows of quite a few people who came to fix their "signature" issues and believes he is ahead now. If my personal district flips due to this recount it will more than be worth it. Also, met quite a few really nice dedicated people. Mostly older women activists. Met a lovely young Haitian woman who is running for Mayor in March in the city right north of me. We discussed the importance of getting the youth involved.
