I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I emailed, they say on their website it's better to email than call.

Maybe I can find someone to take a gallon milk off my hands ETA I am not used to using milk as an ingredient since I don't keep any on hand, and I think the reality is I am not going to bake and ice cream should be made with CREAM so, no to those

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Oops, that reminds me, my flower pot of succulents up at the office may not have been watered in the last three weeks. I better stop by tomorrow and see if there's anything left to salvage.

Our wings are not tired.

wow that's a lot of corn

Since it is the weekend tomorrow I'm going to go ahead and shuck and blanch the cobs and freeze them 4 to a gallon size bag. Then easy to toss one in the microwave any time we get the urge.

Today they had - Individual Produce Boxes: $10 a box - Red Tomatoes-$ 10 - Yellow Tomatoes-$10 - Green Bell Pepper-$10 - Cucumbers-$10 - Yellow Squash- $10 - Zucchini- $10 - Corn- $10 - Yellow Squash- $10 - Pickling Cucumbers- $10 - Poblano Peppers- $10 - Cubanelle Peppers- $10 They contribute both food and a % of the $ to the food bank too which is nice.

eta: I just unboxed the veggies into the fridge and there was an eggplant in there too!

Don't forget stuff left in refrigerators at work. I understand our physical plant people had a lot of fun (not!) this week getting rid of stuff people forgot about when they left.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Thanks for the birthday wishes! Today didn't start very well, as I woke up several times during the night. We are ordering Italian food for take-out, with cheesecake for dessert.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

It is apparently possible to send labs (I don't know what labs, I just heard "labs") to students at home!

Don't know about biology, but dealing with chemical waste gets to be an issue. OTOH, I do have an old Lionel-Porter chemistry set here at home (same model I had when I was 11), that I could at least do a couple of demos with.

"Pantry kit" order placed to pick up tomorrow morning. I'm excited to have an excursion all the way to the next county! And dropping stuff off at my parents' house!

No one is biting on the gallon of milk. I could make yogurt but I'd have to have starter yogurt. Hm. Oh, I'll try Facebook! I forget that some of my FB friends are actually local to me

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

No more overtime without prior written permission from the director

I'm expecting this soon. I got an email yesterday from my boss that was basically, "What's up with all the overtime?", so I assume I'll hear about it. Oh well, like Laura said, I'll miss the extra money, but I won't mind having the time back.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Matt, succulents can usually go for a few weeks without watering, if they're not hammered with too much direct sun or wind.

I ordered curbside pickup from a restaurant nearby for tomorrow: peanut noodles, a pouch of their fancy g&t, 1lb mesclun mix, 2 packs of flour tortillas, a mango, an avocado, 2 rolls tp.

I really only went for it for greens & tortillas, tp was a bonus, but eh, boost their margins & support their vendors, right?

Making a list of local micro orgs/service groups to give my stim check to. I'm well employed & in position to continue to be & have a safety net, so...someone else needs it more.
