Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

"Pantry kit" order placed to pick up tomorrow morning. I'm excited to have an excursion all the way to the next county! And dropping stuff off at my parents' house!

No one is biting on the gallon of milk. I could make yogurt but I'd have to have starter yogurt. Hm. Oh, I'll try Facebook! I forget that some of my FB friends are actually local to me

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

No more overtime without prior written permission from the director

I'm expecting this soon. I got an email yesterday from my boss that was basically, "What's up with all the overtime?", so I assume I'll hear about it. Oh well, like Laura said, I'll miss the extra money, but I won't mind having the time back.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Matt, succulents can usually go for a few weeks without watering, if they're not hammered with too much direct sun or wind.

I ordered curbside pickup from a restaurant nearby for tomorrow: peanut noodles, a pouch of their fancy g&t, 1lb mesclun mix, 2 packs of flour tortillas, a mango, an avocado, 2 rolls tp.

I really only went for it for greens & tortillas, tp was a bonus, but eh, boost their margins & support their vendors, right?

Making a list of local micro orgs/service groups to give my stim check to. I'm well employed & in position to continue to be & have a safety net, so...someone else needs it more.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That reminds me- does anyone know how long a fetal pig stays good?

That is an amazing question!

Laura, when I freeze fresh corn, I usually don't even blanch it. Just cut off the cob and freeze. I feel like it gives the freshest taste down the line.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

That reminds me- does anyone know how long a fetal pig stays good?

Of all the questions I've ever read here, or ASKED here, or thought someone might one day ask here...this was never, EVER one of them.

I laughed so loud that I woke up the kitty.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

That reminds me- does anyone know how long a fetal pig stays good?

It depends on how it is rendered -- is it packed in oil? water? Was it frozen? What kind of container?

La Cuchara. Clavel is still doing traditional fare, not grocery.

I finally decided I wanted to order a burger and fries for takeout because someone else would be making my food. Got here half an hour after my order and they said 20 more minutes. Apparently everyone had the same idea. Now I'm hungry!!
