The status is NOT quo.

Just popping in to say I hope everyone who celebrates is having a lovely Passover. Chag Pesach samech!

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

If anyone has a nice non-shooty game that I could play on my laptop without spending a ton of money, I would welcome recommendations!

Carcassonne, a port of the tile-laying board game is quick, can be played either against he computer or online, and is only $3.99 on Steam today>

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

What the hell is a Maundy, anyway?

Work wasn't on the surface that stressy but my emotional and physical reserves were hella low, so I trudged my way through with pretty much dogged determination.

Too bad I don't get a three day weekend. But at least I do get a weekend...

If you have an iPad, Gwent is kinda fun. It's sort of like Magic: the Gathering, but in the Witcher universe.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Theo! I have the answer! The rector of my church is sending out daily reflections and a recent one had this:

It's called "Maundy" because of the new commandment (mandatum in Latin) that Jesus gives his disciples, which is to love one another.

So, "love each other Thursday"? Huh.

I'm feeling good in that my brain weasels aren't saying I'm horrible and awful, but feeling bad in the "don't want to do anything or get out of bed" way. I definitely prefer the lazy over the horrid self-talk, but my inability to do even normal things like laundry (much less learn a new language/clean the house/do a project) is gnawing at me.

Yes, but maintain your distance. To that end, the Pope is not doing his customary foot washing. (My church usually offers it as an option ... which I have never taken them up on. ick)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

We did foot washing in Sunday School when I was in high school, and honestly, it was pretty powerful.

And not just the smell!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I'm having trouble dealing with suddenly not having a plan at all.

This is difficult for me as well. Like meara, I am struggling with laundry which shouldn't be that complicated.

I'm sorry for the delays, JZ. They are so emotionally fraught.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Meara, the thing for me is that there is no right way to respond to a trauma like we're experiencing. The more we can just let ourselves do whatever it is that brings comfort (Stardew Valley!) the more we give ourselves the room to grieve and heal.
